We unexpectedly required a weeklong accommodation in Geelong. It was essential that we were accommodated within walking distance of the sites we planned to visit. We selected Eastern Sands despite some poor survey readings. The motel was located about 300 metres from the main street being very close to Market Square and the Westfield shopping centre. The bay was a similar distance away. The allocated room, Suite 8, was about average size but was well fitted out for the storage of clothing and other items. A large double bed and a single bed were both comfortable. Unit was clean throughout with a large number of GPOs which helped with the charging of cell phones and computers. A reverse cycle air-conditioner kept the room warn during very cold nights with ambient temperatures in the low teens. A reasonably sized refrigerator and microwave oven allowed us to eat some stock foods. Cutlery consisted of a bread-and-butter knife and two teaspoons. Three small dinner plates completed the total list of dining utensils' Bathroom was small but well appointed. Large fluffy bath towels were replaced periodically. The hot water tap in the shower recess rotated through 720 degrees before it allowed any access to hot water. Soap and other bathroom needs were provided. Staff were helpful offering to change our suite to the ground floor when they realised our age made the stairs an issue. I would rank the motel as better than 3 but certainly not as a 4 rating
We wanted somewhere central and comfortable to stay for a couple of nights, but not a motel or a house. This was the most appealing, looking at the web site. We found it to be very comfortable and cosy. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was nice and modern and stocked with some nice teas. King bed was really comfortable, with interesting marine artefacts above and the heating was great. However, the shower was just warm enough and the water from the bathroom tap took ages to heat up. The bathroom was nice and large which was good as usually we find them rather small. An extra ledge to put things in there would be useful. There was some noise from trucks overnight, but it is opposite a hospital. The bathroom door is rather unusual - large, heavy and we were curious as to why as we'd never seen one like this before. We were able to walk to dinner at a nearby hotel bistro. We enjoyed our breakfast out on the porch in the lovely courtyard. We really enjoyed our stay.
Where to start with this one? I booked a twin room (1x queen and 1x single) here through Wotif.com. $181. I was flat out making the 9pm cut off for check in. The women on the reception gave me a check in form and on that I stated 3 people would be staying in the room. She said id only booked for 2 people and would have to get ”the girls” to sort that out tomorrow. We left and went on the rest of our trip and stupidly I booked it again for the way home. It was after this I noticed I had been charged $55 extra for the previous night for the extra person. On check in the 2nd time I marked 2 people staying (myself and my 6yo) as my partner had intended heading off that evening but wasn't sure as it was getting late. Thats where things went south pretty quick, the manager, probably the most abhorrent human I have ever encountered, started yelling at me from the ground whilst I was entering the 1st floor room asking how many was staying. I chose to go and have a conversation in the office instead of yelling. She said she saw on the cameras there were 3 people in the car when we got out and we had enough luggage for 3 people. Well yes, we had been on a 4 day trip. 3 of us. I informed her the 2 person thing was a Wotif default search. I simply put the dates and the town in and then choose an appropriate room for my needs. In this case it was the twin room that sleeps 3, as per the advertisement. She charged me another $55 dollars, refused a refund as per the very convenient ”no refund”. She informed me that this always happens (im not surprised). She accused me of stealing by not indicating how many people were staying there. She was abusive and basically just downright obnoxious. You cannot speak to this person, seriously, she just speaks over you at every chance. I honestly booked a room to accommodate our needs. in all my time booking hundreds of Hotels I have never encountered anything like it. Seriously guys, stay away from this place. I feel stupid falling into the same trap twice but i'd already booked it prior to looking at my credit card transaction. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE, THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS!!! I feel sillier after getting home and reading the reviews, seems to be a common theme at this place. I though given the twin share room that sleeps 3 was more expensive than a queen room that i was already paying for a 3rd person. For heaven's sake just go somewhere else, this place is just disgraceful!
ゲゲストThis is the worst motel we have ever stayed in. The room bore no resemblance to the images on the website. Carpet dirty and stained. Smoke alarm disconnected. Paint chipped. Bench tops damaged. Security chain on door disconnected. The only saving grace - the bed was comfortable
