Genuine uk resident review. Ok so I drove down from NW England and after 1500km drive I fancied a stopover… I’d looked at this hotel previously and thought it ticked my boxes. Meet and check in absolutely brilliant… great reception staff cannot fault them at all. Polite, welcoming, smile on their faces… top class. So I went to the restaurant for dinner and was looking forward to it based on reviews read by me.. went for the burg- dog prawns.. I asked prior to ordering what it was m, and given that I should speak French as in France I dont and the waitress limited English, however overly ready to help. So I thought I was getting a surf n turf burger as it was most expensive item on menu, unfortunately this wasn’t the case. A beautiful bun turned up with 5 cooked FULL king prawns smothered in sauce… for the life in me I can’t eat heads and tails so I ended up peeling them, covered in the sauce , all over my hands too, I finished with a half fill prawn sandwich.. which was tasty but not what I expected… actually watched a French customer ate the same after me…. He peeled all the KPs too… should have opted for the normal burger…. All that said I would definitely stay here again due to staff and hotel quality .
Perfect three day stay to rest and recuperate. As noted by other guests, a magnificent and quirky 4 bedroom little hotel, you’re sure to be spoilt. First class breakfasts with deliciously thought out ingredients. Our bedroom 1 was great with aircon. Our hosts were super, attentive and top of their game. On Thursday eve, we joined the village festival, wine tasted and ate well with great live music, so do check dates for this and of course the bull runs! Anything beyond the village, you will need a car and do watch the summer temperatures as can get close to 39 deg. Thank-you
