Perfect stay - highly recommended. Staff really welcoming, friendly & very helpful. The room was very well kept - really clean and tidy. Everything worked as it should - no noise coming from within or outside of hotel. Bar was great and the hotel is located right in the middle of the town. Pay and display car park within 3-minute walk of hotel & big Tesco store over the road.
We have stayed here many times whilst visiting family in Chepstow, always found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. We rarely eat at the restaurant but has been ok in the past( didn’t eat there on this occasion). Only thing I’d bring up was on our second night we had gone in for a drink to be told cash only as the systems were down nation-wide! We found this a bit weird as we had had no trouble at another restaurant nor one of Marston sister pubs up the road. When we asked if we could put the drinks on a room tab as we were staying there, we were told no. They tried the card machine and surprisingly it worked! Not sure where they had their information from, but they had definitely got it wrong.
Hotel was overpriced for the standard it offered. Received a text early in the day stating I would receive an entry code after the check in time, never received the second text so had to call. Found the room in the garden, took me 40 minutes to get the key to actually open the door. (Room 11) annex in the garden. Breakfast was nice, freshly cooked and very enjoyable. Room was ok, if a little tired. For the price I expected a better stay.
Clean, well presented room. Staff very helpful and polite. Front desk staff courteous and very attentive. Hotel is set in glorious picturesque surroundings and situated ideally for our visit into Chepstow racecourse. Will definitely return. Thank you
