Really looking forward to our lunch today, Mothers Day , which was booked on Tuesday by my Son only to be told there was no record of the booking ! The only choice available was the ' snug ' a narrow space near the front door, so rather than have no food we sat there. Lovely Mothers Day sitting in a line facing a wall about 3 feet away! Cold draught every time the door opened and people standing next to the table while waiting to be seated ! Although the girls were pleasant enough wasn't really what we were expecting and the food when it came was nothing special. When I went to pay I said how unhappy we were, wasn't even an offer of free sweet or something, not that I was looking for that but the offer would have been nice for the inconvenience . Certainly won't be going back or reccomending it to anyone! Thanks Knitsley for spoiling our Mother's Day lunch.
We had a standard room which was spacious and comfortable in this beautiful hotel. Loved the relaxing lounge areas with the huge sofas which we preferred to the bar area for having a drink. There was a wide range of food at the breakfast buffet as well as items to order. My only suggestion would be to have warmed plates please. Excellent evening meals and the staff were polite and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
Excellent modern room that was exceptionally clean , the staff are fantastic, we stayed two nights here whilst visiting the Beamish Museum. If you have paid for bed and breakfast the breakfast is served in the Rangos Restaurant which is operated as a separate business but within the hotel building . The breakfast was absolutely excellent, we booked a Saturday evening meal at Rangos , again the food and Rangos staff along with the menu pricing are excellent . Great hotel already planning a revisit back to the Beamish Museum so we will be rebooking at this hotel again which would be our fourth time , many thanks too all .
