I choose to stay at Marine Troon as it was the best hotel in the area. I had a little problem when I first arrived which was sorted out by Joan on Reception to my complete satisfaction. The Sea View room was large, clean and comfortable. It contained all I needed for my stay. Kettle/Coffee Machine/Iron etc., Lyn and Joan on Reception were very helpful when I had any queries. The breakfast was beautifully cooked using good quality ingredients and served timely and piping hot. Dinner in both The Seal and The Rabbit were fabulous. For golfers the location is amazing. The spa area is great and the very warm pool and jacuzzi was a great way to relax. The only issue I had - which was not the hotels fault - is that it is under the flight path to Prestwick Airport. There was often an extremely loud plane that went overhead at around 2am which would wake me up and take me ages to get back to sleep. Having said that, I would stay there again. Thank you to all staff who made my stay special.
Was down for the Airshow yesterday and stayed overnight.
Although we were due to check-in at 2pm, the host Julia allowed us to do it earlier meaning we could go and enjoy the show. She also emailed a few days before explaining how the parking permit would work on the day of the event, which was great and stress free.
Perfect location, 5min walk to the beach, 5min walk to the main street with bars/restaurants.
The room was fine, nice and clean and we had a great night's sleep. Scottish breakfast was lovely.
Overall great experience, Julia the host was very friendly and welcoming.
Will definetly be booking back up for next year 😄
We had a very enjoyable weekend at the Mercure Hotel for the Air show. Lucy at reception allocated us with a fantastic room, with a sea view (465) , thank you Lucy. Andrew at the bar, very helpful and friendly. Not to mention all the staff at breakfast, they were all great. The breakfast was delicious . The room was so clean and comfortable, we had a great sleep! Will not hesitate to visit again. Thank you all for a memorable weekend.
My wife booked us a stay in this hotel as a surprise. She was recommended by one of her friends. The room was extraordinary clean, very spacious, bed was comfy and cosy. We ate dinner in the restaurant every night, and we weren’t disappointed whatsoever. Kyle on the bar was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Such a lovely guy gentleman. His personality and his humour was amazing. The meals we ate were very delicious, with very short wait times between our starters and mains. Our server Megan was outstanding, she seemed to be on top of her game the first night we ate there when we met her. She was very talkative, asking us lots of questions about ourselves and our stay, what our plans were for the time we were staying in Ayr. Just overall very accommodating, always with a smile on her face. She seemed to be very much taking the lead with looking after all the customers. Credit to your hotel for sure. The breakfast was very pleasant too, was a help yourself cold buffet and hot food was ordered at the table by Carol. Another lovely woman. Overall, the whole experience was impeccable. As a retired couple, it was nothing other than relaxing and bliss time while staying at this hotel. Would recommend it to anyone and would definitely come back again to stay.
