Just had a great stay at Days Inn. Friendly welcome from Jay who made sure we had everything we needed such as extra towels and tea/coffee. Nice quiet atmosphere and clean, inviting rooms with comfortable beds. Copious hot water for showers and effective double glazing as you are near the A1. Good parking available and a Food Court which has all the main fast food outlets plus Greggs, W.H. Smiths and M&S. Shell filling station 24hr and shop. Well placed for touring, we visited the De Havilland Aircraft Museum and IWM Duxford. I will be booking again when in the area as it is a good place to stay and well placed.
Comfortable room in budget hotel, with generous complimentary breakfast and friendly, helpful staff (who ordered oatmilk especially for me!). This was my first ever business trip away from home and I don't drive. I had fears about my stay but they were all unfounded. Manager Ann really helped me feel welcomed and looked after. Thank you!
My husband & I had our wedding here on the 12th July; ceremony & reception in the ballroom. We booked the Broadway back in October. From the start, Agnieska was fantastic at helping organise the day with all the little details, keeping in touch very regularly. We selected the hot carvery package which was excellent for 65 guests. We had family & friends travelling distance, and all managed to get booked in for 2 nights. We had use of the honeymoon suite, which was decorated with rose petals, and there was a lovely bouquet of flowers & box of chocolates left for us. The day went very smoothly, staff couldn’t have been more helpful in ensuring a room was available early for myself, mum & bridesmaids to have our make up done & get ready. Ourselves, family & friends were extremely well looked after. Everyone was happy with their rooms & quality of the breakfast. We would certainly recommend the Broadway as a wedding. Thank you so much for making our day so special 🥰.
Letchworth Hall Hotel After staying here on numerous occasions, we would not stay at this hotel again after our last visit. The room we were allocated was far from acceptable. The bathroom was musty and the room was generally dingy and gloomy. As it was only for one night we put up with it. However after leaving the next morning I realised that I had left my coat in the wardrobe, so I rang the hotel. I gave them the room number and told them of the exact place where it was left in the wardrobe. (We have a friend who lives near to the hotel who could pick it up for us). The receptionist never rang back with its whereabouts so I contacted Head Office. Nothing happened and my coat has never been recovered. I feel that there is a dishonest element at this hotel and would not recommend it.
A thorough and utter disappointment, to take time away from our lovely home for this. What a waste. The reception area was busy when we arrived and we had to queue. Being processed when finally reaching the front of the queue was crass and impersonal. We might as well have checked in via a machine. It was silent so everyone could hear when we were asked whether we were celebrating or here for a special reason. It was the start of a truly unsophisticated offering which didn't improve. We were then sent off to sit and wait for an attendant who, when they arrived, demanded to know shoe size. No warmth or rationale offered. The public areas and corridors were cold, it was noticeable that there was no sense of joy or excitement even amongst the paying guests, it felt as though everyone was going through the motions merely. On entering our room it was noticeable immediately that the decorative cushions and counterpane on the bed were stained and soiled. Not a positive first impression at all. We did find a housekeeper who removed them, they weren't replaced. There were bare, cut wires near curtains - astonishing that no one is supervising maintenance or reporting issues here, where are the supervisory staff and managers? At the reception for our treatment we were told to sit and wait to be called, no please or welcome greeting. I was finally called forward with the command 'Guest of Malcolm'. I may have been a guest but I do have a name and that is just rude and discourteous. Facial treatment ok but to have the unsolicited sales pitch in the treatment room of additions to the treatment isn't regular, professional or required. Just unpleasant. In recognising the staff have no choice about this element it smacks of overselling and milking the cash cow. At dinner, despite having a timed booking, we had to queue to check in. It's just inhospitable and hostile. At every stage of purchase you're quizzed about method of payment, it becomes tedious. Appreciate there has to be a method to stop thieves but give me the respect I deserve until proven otherwise. Paying on departure like the majority of establishments in the same ilk is the norm and much more customer focussed. The whole offering felt sleazy, off-putting and demeaning. To give up precious time off for this is galling and it has tarnished the brand for us. We left without breakfast or lunch on departure day. What a joy to return home.
