We have just had a lovely four days with friends at the Mill. Our room was spacious with a massive, very comfortable bed. We awoke in the morning to the sound of sheep in the field next to the Hotel. Breakfast was lovely with friendly and helpful staff. The setting is perfect and we found it an ideal base for visiting the local area.
This hotel was boutique and glistened in the classic Lakes style that Lancaster and Lancashire is known for. You enter the hotel via the bar and restaurant which we thought would be intrusive to other bar users however it’s around 5 steps around the bend which is good. Reception staff on check in and check out were very friendly and professional and welcomed us with a smile, very down to earth which is good to see. The room was modern and as I say a boutique style, with an old style phone being a lovely touch. The room however had wear with a chip in the sink and different chips and marks however wasn’t too noticeable. Breakfast was included which was table service and not a buffet however the offerings were very generous and one of the best English breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel, £500 a night resorts in Mayfair had a worst breakfast than here. Price was slightly steep compared to other hotels in the area and I was hesitant however I would certainly return.
Might be due to owner wanted to save energy, lights and heaters very unpreductable. Even TV will auto off, lights auto dim down and no intervention possible.
