This is a very good hotel, ideal for a weekend break and especially if you want to be near to the beautiful Guardiana river. We travelled up the Portuguese side and visited Mertola which was, to be honest, a bit underwhelming but as the road gave way to the Alentejo countryside, appreciation was lifted. The hotel was easy to locate, impressive even in the mist and gentle rain and we felt instantly that it wa a good choice. The reception was warm and friendly and our room was substantial with all facilities, very clean and well prepared and had a lovely view over the swimming pool. The observatory was under modification; the games room in the Library was good to have even though it was quite cold. We did arrive on a Sunday night - the restaurant was open with an understandably limited menu. One of us is a no-fish vegetarian and so it is our fault that there was nothing we could sit down to and we could find nothing open in the village. But it was our fault. Should have rung ahead. We would happily visit again. Breakfast was extensive and good but, other than pancakes, nothing hot.

We received a warm welcome on arrival at the hotel. Receptionist spoke English and offered us drinks which was lovely with the bar overlooking the river. The pool was open which was ideal because we had found many hotel pools closed in April. The pool wasn't heated but was warm enough being sited in the sun. Room wasn't big but had a lovely view of the river and a balcony to sit on. Breakfast was good.

バードウォッチングツアー中にこのホテルで4泊しました。私たちの部屋は清潔で手入れが行き届いていて、ベッドは快適で、私の幸せを維持するのに十分な枕があり、wifiがありました。しかし、部屋は狭く、ベッドスタンドは2つ、テーブルは小さくて狭いです。クローゼットには引き出しがいくつかありましたが、コートハンガーはわずかしかなく、4 泊の 2 人には十分ではありませんでした。追加のものをもらう前に 3 回尋ねなければなりませんでした。バスルームは私たちの最大の問題でした。何らかの理由で、私たちは必要としなかった障害者の部屋を与えられました。トイレは足が床にたどり着くほど高かった。洗面台はカウンターに設定されていないため、トイレ用品を置く場所がなく、シャワーで棚に使用する予定のプラスチック製のシートを使用しなければなりませんでした.シャワーは最悪の部分でした.壁は折りたたみでき、しっかりと底に固定されていなかったので、それらに寄りかかっても崩壊し、外の床に水が漏れました。屋台は十分に小さく、洗濯中に誤って蛇口のハンドルを叩いて水を消すことができました。滞在中にシャワーを楽しんだとは言えません。プラス側では、隣接する建物で提供された非常に素敵な朝食ビュッフェがありました。

Welcoming at reception, very quick, very clean. Room clean and bathroom. View of the river, nice balcony to see the views. Breakfast extra but continental and English choices. Staff from reception to the bar and the cleaners all very friendly. Bar snacks available which guests tended to use due to not having to go out in 46 degrees. Pool welcoming n warm. Definitely visit again. Thank u everyone
