We booked for a baseball tournament the weekend of May 19th and then our team decided not to go. I called to cancel (ahead of the last day to cancel without penalties) instead of logging into our account to cancel and thought everything was taken care of. We had used points to book and never received the credit back. Granted, I didn't follow up and didn't get a cancellation number. Contacted Hilton and initially they were helpful and escalated my issue. When I didn't hear back, I contacted again. Within a couple of days they responded that they had contacted the hotel and the hotel stated we had checked in. Which we didn't, no one from our team made the trip and they should have been able to see that there were multiple cancellations. But since I failed to notate the cancellation number after the phone call to the hotel to cancel...we lost our points. As Diamond members, our history of stays should speak something to our loyalty to Hilton. We've never had this issue before, completely frustrated and disappointed with the experience.
This hotel had the strangest elevator issue; it could go up, but it couldn't go down if you were on the 3rd floor. Taking the stairs down had debris that wasn't cleaned up. Breakfast was good. The front desk was helpful. My biggest gripe with this entire chain is the shoddy construction of the hotel itself. You can hear the people directly above you and it sounds like a pack of elephants. There is a $50 security deposit that is added to your bill; my issue with this is that it wasn't instantly charged to my card, but it takes several days (over 4 to have the funds back on).
We were in town for the Springdale/Fayetteville Baseball Tournament May 19th-21st. Our team chose to stay at Comfort Suites Bentonville-Rogers. After a Horrible experience there the first night, I was able to book a room at Hampton Inn the next two nights. Hampton’s are always my first choice being a Diamond member! This hotel did not disappoint, clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice thick towels! We did have to request room service early though. I am ready for the days to be back where room service is automatic with room. If in the area again, I will be booking here whether the rest of the team does or not!!
