Location: Conveniently located near Carnival City entertainment complex in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Room: The rooms at Road Lodge Carnival City are on the smaller side, but well-laid out to accommodate a family of 3 comfortably. Despite the compact space, everything you need is right at hand. The beds were clean and comfortable.
Cleanliness: This property gets a 5-star rating for cleanliness. The hotel staff clearly takes pride in keeping all public areas and rooms spotlessly clean. Our room was thoroughly cleaned each day with fresh towels provided.
Amenities: In-room amenities were basic but sufficient. Free wifi access allowed us to stay connected. The daily refreshment of ice from the vending machine in the hallway was a nice touch.
Breakfast: While we did not partake in any meals here, breakfast is buffet and by the standard of most hotels, was ample and well-prepared.
Service: Front desk and housekeeping staff were polite, helpful and attentive to any needs during our stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient.
Value: For the affordable room rate at Road Lodge Carnival City, we felt it offered excellent value. The proximity to entertainment and clean, comfortable accommodations made it a hassle-free base despite the modest size.
Overall: While the rooms are on the small side, this hotel gets high marks for cleanliness, location and service. It provides clean, comfortable lodging for an affordable rate that is perfect for a family trip to Carnival City. I would definitely stay here again.
