This is my fourth visit to the Qvest Hotel. It's a precious hotel that's more than interesting to me, and sometimes I visit Cologne to stay in it. The harmony of historic buildings and modern mid-centuries offers a special moment that can't be experienced anywhere. And the elegant place facing the church of St. Gereon allows for a real rest. This is the real Hydeway.

Interesting hotel, spacious rooms with excellent linen. Stayed two nights and it was ideal for exploring city. There is no restaurant so the breakfast was a basic cold buffet prepared by general staff.We enjoyed ambience of the breakfast area and having a leisurely breakfast but thought breakfast was overpriced, would be happy to pay €12-15 per head.

One pleasant Kolnish surprise! In a quite courtyard in the middle of the town, you will find yourself in an oasis of calmness, and the old building revived with the help of inventive architects into a nice hotel. Staff members always ready to assist you (genuinely:-) makes a hotel to come back.

Visited Cologne for six days in December with our 18y son over the Christmas period. Our daughter, who is working in Cologne, joined us at the hotel for the first three days sharing a twin bedroom with her brother. The location is fantastic - in a quiet square but only 10 minutes walk away from the cathedral. Easy to get to from the airport by train if you have few bags/trolley wheels. Its a unique building and the staff are friendly, helpful and help to create a gentle easy going ambience. Special mention to Nina who was on reception for the first few days - also the guy serving a continental breakfast - welcoming and a lovely gentle manner about him. Rooms are not standard so best to check size and shape of your room - my wife and i moved to a larger room, which was amazing with a view of the square, as the standard was a little too small. Our kids twin bed room was excellent also. Only quibble is that the wi-fi & TV set up could be better - but hey it does work - so minor quibble only. We will definitely be back!

Our stay in The QVest was magnificient. Beautiful building, very helpful and kind people. The position of the hotel, just between the center of the city in 10 minutes and the Belgian Area with nightlife and lots of nice restaurants on the other site in 5 minutes, is perfect. We very much enjoyed our short stay.

Despite the kindness and helpfulness of the receptionists, the image of Qvest would gain notoriety if the staff received a uniform. The rooms are spacious but with insufficient lighting. The bathrooms are tiny but nicely designed. Neither the kettle nor the television worked. The emergency number is...on the answering machine.

Superb boutique hotel within walking distance of the city attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable if a little too minimalist. Would definitely recommend the Qvest as a place to stay in Cologne.
