We stayed at Peppers and Little Peppers, Windamere from April 22 to 24, 2024. It was a rather unpleasant stay for two reasons. From 9am to 6pm, there was major renovation work going on bang in front of our rooms. Drilling, hammering, welding...you name it, they did it. There was relative quiet from 6pm to 7.30pm. Then began very loud music playing in the lawn right next to our rooms, which stopped only at 10.30pm after several protests. We went there for peace and quiet. And we got a splitting headache instead. It is standard pratice in the hospitality industry to keep nearby rooms unoccupied when renovation is in progress. I think the hotel's greed got in the way and they forgot to mention to us that a very noisy stay was in store for us. As for the property, it is very quaint and brilliantly located. The rooms were quite cramped and looked run down. Our intercom wasn't working not was the hand shower. The taps ran out of cold water and we had to complain to get supply restored. The staff was uniformly courteous and helpful. The food good. Helpings were generous. Overall, the rooms were sub-par for the price and the noise was killing throught the day. Rather disappointing, given the reputation of the place.
