The homestay is nestled within a traditional courtyard residence in the ancient city of Datong, adjacent to historical and cultural landmarks such as the Huayan Temple, Daiwang Palace, Nine Dragon Screen, Fahua Temple, and the Drum Tower. Designed by the team of Li Yizhong, the courtyard retains the local architectural charm, with the building's structure fully preserving the ecological essence of the original site. Featuring blue bricks and gray tiles, the courtyard-style layout embodies the unique design style of the homestay, as well as its integration of spatial values and the cultural heritage of the ancient city into the identity of the younger generation.
The living room is furnished like a miniature home, with soft fabric sofas, lounge chairs, a pair of ceramic jars, a few flower branches, and a scattering of vintage items. Under the warm orange lighting and the glow of the fireplace, the imagery of natural aesthetics and the tranquility of a secluded retreat permeate every corner of the space, like the subtle fragrance of agarwood. Inside the rooms, traditional Chinese paintings, wabi-sabi dried branches, and simple cups and plates exude a charm that is retro yet not outdated, minimalist yet sophisticated.
Every detail in the courtyard rooms reflects our pursuit of quality. The mattresses are from the same brand, King Koil, used by Atlantis, The Royal Palace Hotel in Dubai, and Hilton. The linens are supplied by Canasin, a brand officially recognized by star-rated hotels, featuring high-thread-count bedding, down comforters, and down pillows to ensure a restful night's sleep. Hansgrohe bathroom fixtures, Axent smart sanitary ware, a constant-temperature hot water system, Daikin's whole-house air conditioning and fresh air system, Dyson hair dryers, and smart home appliances provide a comfortable and relaxing stay. We hope you can set aside the fatigue of work and travel and enjoy the present moment with your family.
The homestay breakfast includes Guangling tribute millet porridge, sweet potatoes, corn, multigrain buns, and Shanxi's signature knife-cut noodles. Additionally, there are beverages such as milk, specialty teas, and freshly brewed coffee, as well as beef, chicken, a variety of specialty fruits, and seasonal side dishes.
We welcome our guests with sincerity, ensuring they feel at home. Here, you can embark on a journey of inner tranquility, a voyage of discovery into history and culture, and a pursuit of life's beauty and joy.
