When you see the words ‘Quality’ and ‘International’ in the name of an accommodation place you naturally think quality, etc, etc. Especially when the images on the website look fairly good. Sorry, this place needs a name change. I took a photo which pretty-well sums up the Inn. A cracked wall plug outlet, slightly off-centre on a painted tile surface in the bathroom. Even the small plastic plugs that normally hide the screws were missing and it was dirty inside. A very old and tired motel that should be demolished. An attempt to update it some time ago with all tile surfaces repainted, lots of black paint slowly wearing off and concrete stairs & paths really showing their age. Missing crockery and utensils, no real kitchenette area to hold the toaster & kettle, also very old electrical appliances. The room had not really been cleaned properly and someone had been smoking outside with the door open so that it was quite smelly on arrival. The note in the bathroom asked that you be environmentally friendly and hang your towels up unless you want them changed. After one night we naturally hung them up. They were changed anyway. The toilet bowl was dirty below the waterline. Quality room service means workers in white uniforms with trolleys and laundry bags. No, plain clothes workers with sheets draped over the shoulders. On the plus side it was only 800 metres from the Dubbo Zoo so you could walk there instead of taking the car. It was a very large bed which was comfortable, the aircon worked well and the showers were hot. At the end of the day that is what we usually look for. Clean sheets and a pillow. It’s just a pity the rest of the place didn’t match. By the way, our travel companions in another room faired worse than us and were also not impressed.
A nice motel, comfortable and value for money. A restaurant on site, washing and drying facilities. Tea , coffee microwave and hairdryer supplied. Cleaning solution to wash windscreen on your car was very welcome. Friendly staff. Bathroom was small but sufficient. We walked to town, it’s not close but an easy walk and a short drive. Security gates at night made us feel very safe as we had our golf clubs in the car.
Absolutely awful experience. Booked 2 single rooms and ended up staying in portable cabin in the car park issues were Leaking / dripping airconditioner onto the pillows Air conditioner that could not cool the cabin so sweated all night Kettle could not be filled as it did not fit under the tap Awful patches on the wall Bin for the room was a plastic bag left in the sink for me Really high steps to access the cabin - we are older Australians so struggled with getting up and down No wifi - this was a disappointment as we had been travelling and wanted to FaceTime with family privately - went to the reception to ask if we could move anywhere else to be told ”no sorry”
Conveniently located and great value property, located close to several takeaway shops and small grocery store as well as being only five minutes from the centre of town This is an ideally located property , near the riverbank you can just park the car and walk to the town centre, Rooms are spacious and well presented , staff are freindly and happy to assist with information on local attractions. Our room had a kitchenette so ideal for those staying a few days room was well well presented and property is well maintained , parking within the interior courtyard is an added bonus , A property we would stay at again when we are next in dubbo ,
Hot water for shower took 5 minutes before hot enough to get under and water pressure poor and there is a sign not to waste water?!? No fan in bathroom just 2 open vanes above window - means fresh air yay! but offsets heating in main room if you can work out how the heater works (no instructions). There were 2 very small cereal bowls plus a slightly bigger one, 1 tea cup, 2 saucers, 2 mugs, 1 cereal spoon, 1 teaspoon, no plates, no knives, good toaster, very small electric jug, no water glasses, 2 small wine glasses - not a good selection for a main highway motel in town. What is the point of having a toaster but no knives or even plates which are big enough for toast? You might ask, why not ask reception for whatever you think is missing? Okay but does that mean every time you think something is missing or do a stocktake on arrival and take list to reception?
The Atlas Hotel was excellent for its price point and our needs. We had to get 2 rooms as a result of a very busy weekend at Dubbo and they were clean, spacious and comfortable. The heating was perfect, the showers had hot water and the beds were comfortable. Arriving very late to the hotel was a breeze and the communication from the owners was exceptional at all parts of the process. It was very central, easy to find and neat and tidy. Couldn't fault the place. Would stay here again.
