CHECKED OUT! Building site! Dusty , broken down walls left open, smelt of wet plaster it smelt terrible ! Our room was so far away up in the lift across a long corridor back in a lift and not adequate signage for such a long walk . Room was average To find your way out of this rabbit hole was a nightmare I was lost as there were not adequate directions just hallways! I ended up having to get a staff member to come get me out of these long corridors and take me back to reception where we checked out!

Sadly, this was the worst hotel stay I’ve had in a long time. My ‘renovated’ room was in the middle of an area of the hotel that was being rebuilt. The room was poorly finished, gloomy and depressing. The climate control did not work. Outside the room was a huge mess, builders started at 7:30am drilling, sawing & kicking up dust. Putting guests into rooms on effectively a building site is ridiculous. The hotel should simply be shut to guests while it is being renovated. Avoid!

This place greets you in a friendly way, has a great breakfast and has awesome personnel that helps you with whatever you want. The rooms are beautiful and handy. The parking lot can be quite busy, but I always manage to find a parking spot.

Van der Valk is known in the Netherlands for its consistent service and quality. And I also experienced this service and quality in this establishment on the A1 freeway near Hilversum. Check-in was effortless to arrange online after receiving an email, so you only have to pick up the key at the reception upon arrival. I had a neat, spacious room on the 2nd floor with a balcony. The bed is large and very comfortable. The bathroom had a bathtub and a separate spacious walk-in shower. The hotel has a large restaurant with a terrace and a good menu with plenty of choices, including the Van Der Valk classics. Service is good and fast, and the food quality is fine. In the morning, I found a spacious breakfast buffet with a chef where you could order different egg dishes. It is a perfect business hotel where you can also relax after a day's work.

This is a hotel with a heritage. So hard for me to judge it so hard. But that is the only reason it gets two stars. And for the people working there. They are lovely. And the Wi-Fi is good. Furthermore, basic, if not Spartan rooms. Noisy, old coffee machine did not work properly. Inconvenient design of the bathroom. Lot of noise outside. Food (dinner) decent but not special. It is just not Valk worthy. Not over priced. Breakfast was good. I would revamp it. Keep the heritage but make it a 2022 generation and luxury hotel. I won’t return. One plus is the gym is open 24/7. Left with a mixed feeling as I love van der Valk. And I did feel the spirit. Particularly amongst the people. But sorry. Only 2 stars.

Little noisy due the proximity of highway, in the rooms with view to the highway. Good breakfast and excellent location. Easy to reach Amsterdam in 15 minutes, the price is very good regarding the proximity of Amsterdam.

Very nice hotel whit frendly staff. Very nice big rooms whit coffe and tea in room. Also nice balcony for smokers... I was wana stay 1 night and stay 4 even if i was need to drive nore then to change hotel. I liked very much my staing there :)))
