アジア ホテル フェルガナ(Asia Hotel Fergana)

We stayed here for two nights on our tour of Uzbekistan. It’s a large hotel constructed in several blocks and we were across the courtyard and along a couple of paths with a number of steps and changes of level. There are steps up to the front of the hotel and we didn’t see a lift anywhere. The hotel placed white sheets over the carpet outside, presumably to catch the dirt from shoes but they were a trip hazard. There was some construction work going on and we heard drilling and clattering. The gardens are nice and there is a swimming pool although we had no time to use it so we don’t know how warm it might be. Our room was spacious and old fashioned but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had been partially updated. We were provided with a fridge and kettle but nothing to make a drink until we asked for cups and tea/coffee the following day. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and were pretty much the only diners. The restaurant is quite fancy and there’s a lovely terrace for warmer days. The food was okay and alcohol is served. Each block has a separate reception area where keys are given out. We were given a physical key whereas the other people in our group of six had key cards. When we returned to our room after dinner the key didn’t work (unlike the cards) and the receptionist was nowhere to be seen. We had to ring our guide for help and he tracked down the staff member who replaced the key with a keycard. A bit odd. Breakfast was good, with a choice of cooked items, sweet and savoury, breads and cakes, some fruit and cereals although we had to ask for certain items that had run out to be replenished. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to shops (including a shop selling alcohol where we bought wine that we were allowed to take to a restaurant with a private area for such consumption), restaurants, banks and A**s. It was more than adequate for our needs in a busy itinerary, a “good” but not “very good”.

Very nice hotel grounds with shade and trees located in a central location in town. Comfortable room with all the amenities. The breakfast that came with my room was above average. The only issue was my room door lock was broken.

We found this hotel to be quiet with very nice gardens. Maybe it's been upgraded lately as we had lifts and an A**. English speaking staff were a bit thin on the ground. The room was large, perfectly clean but a bit old fashioned. Dinner was O.K. Breakfast was fine on one of our mornings but the second morning there was less choice as a large tour group got there before us. The laundry we had done was very cheap and beautifully done. If you need a laundry service use this!

Hotel Asia is on a busy road and spread over several buildings that share a nice garden. My room was upstairs and there is no elevator. The room was split-level, with a large seating area and bathroom down and the bedroom upstairs. The decor, like the whole hotel is very dark and dated, like Europe 50 years ago. My bed was very hard, but all linen and towels are crisp and clean. The breakfast room is hidden in the back of the garden and here the interior is kitsch with painted ceiling, crystal chandeliers, velvet chairs, mirror walls and gold plated Roman columns . . . the breakfast buffet is really poor with instant coffee and bad service. This is also where the bar is, but the choice of drinks is very limited. Overall Hotel Asia has a lot of potential, but is in desperate need of renovation under the supervision of an interior decorator.

Two night stay her at the beginning of a longer trip. Hotel in midst of major renovation when we stayed, and not busy, but pleasant enough gardens and adequate rooms, adjus**ent made for local decor. Service was friendly if sometimes a little clunky but the whole somehow a little redolent of the country’s soviet past.

Good place and ambience but service could have been better

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and had a very good experience. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean, but what we enjoyed most were the facilities. It has beautiful gardens where you can relax and the outdoor pool was a salvation given the heat during the days we were in Fergana. They also have an indoor pool if you are traveling in cold weather and a gym to work out. The staff was very friendly and treated us really well, always with a smile and willing to help. The breakfast is varied and there are different options daily. We also stayed for lunch one day and dinner other day, since they have many different options, even vegetarian ones, something that is not easy to find in other restaurants. The location of the hotel is excellent, it is in the heart of Fergana, you can walk to different places, such as restaurants or stores. I recommend it 100% and I will come back to this hotel when I return to Fergana.
