Hotel Alpenkrone

Just came back from a lovely week at the Apenkrone. What a lovely hotel it is and what a perfect village, I have been to Austria in the summer on a number of occasions and can say that this was the nicest village and hotel we have stayed in. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The pool area was better than most 5 star hotels i have stayed in. They provide robes and towels for the pool area. The location was ideal and its probably got the best view of any hotel in Filzmoos as its elevated above the village. It is a steep walk to the village but its a short walk. All rooms have balconies and its worth paying the extra to get a room over looking the village as the original room we had whilst lovely had a view of the road in front. A higher floor room at this side would be adequate but it was definitely worth the upgrade for the village facing rooms. You get all the sunlight in these rooms as well in the afternoon. The food was restaurant quality with so much different choices over the week. Drinks are very reasonable and probably cheaper than any other place in the village. The lack of the summer card was one negative but they explained that the other hotels who offer the card add the cost into the room rate. You can get a free card from the hotel which allows you use of the buses for one Euro so that helps. I would definitely go back

Not a 4* hotel. The worse hotel I have been in, and I have been holidaying all over Austria Europe for the last 40 years. This is not the usual pristine Austrian standard, we were very disappointed and it was not worth the money we paid.

Firstly the good bits. The food was good. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Now the bad bits.. Everything else.!!! The hotel is tired and shabby and the standards of service are poor It is not up to the standard of other Austrian hotels I have stayed in. So bad we asked Inghams to move us. We found the hotel depressing.

An excellent centre for our family skiing holiday. Superb food and a great spa with saunas and swimming pool. Situated above the main town but with regular bus connections to the various pistes during the day, or by a short walk to the centre it has fantastic views along the valley. Very clean and with helpful staff providing good service at breakfast and the four course dinner. The bar and lounge was lively in the evening and it also has a games room with ping-pong and fussball. Would highly recommend.

This hotel does not deserve 4 starts. It is pretty old, and would need renovation. The restaurant is overcrowded. However, the view is nice, both from restaurant and room. Room is old-fashioned. The price was definitely not high, especially comparing to the surrounding.

Sixth time in Austria in Summer but first in Filzmoos. Quick minibus transfer 50 minutes from airport. Arrived just before evening meal cut off but still accommodated us after quick check in. Asked for a high floor quiet room on booking and got room 312 which as a bonus was a family room with separate part with another two single meds and loads more storage space. Comfy bed balcony good bathroom and powerful shower in cubicle. Various nationalities at hotel different age groups. Despite extreme temperatures room was always at a bearable level. Restaurant was hot but this could not be helped. Dinner was chosen at breakfast which was varied plenty of choice. Four course dinner choice of three menus including vegetarian and a childrens menu. All meals were very good meat very tender and soups also tasty. Leisure facilities too but not used. Staff at hotel particularly in restaurant were excellent apart from one man who we think was the bar manager whose customer service was poor could have been friendlier. Filzmoos is a small village, impression we got was that it thrived more as a ski resort in Winter. Loads of walks varying in length and difficulty, good local bus to outlying and neighbouring suburbs where more walks could be found, plenty of excursion options available. Only downside to location of hotel was 10 minute steep walk uphill which in normal temperatures would not be so bad but hard going at end of long day in afternoon sun! Stunning scenery no matter where you look. Clean air no rubbish different way of live and culture. Austria and Filzmoos didn’t disappoint.

In 3 abbiamo pagato davvero poco per i servizi offerti dall’hotel. Nell’hotel ci sono molte attività (piscina,spa,palestra etc…). Anche le camere davvero molto pulite e il menu vario. Ottima qualità del cibo e servizio impeccabile. Consiglio a tutte le persone che vogliono fare una vacanza a filzmoos

Bardzo ładny hotel, pyszne śniadania i obiadokolacje. Codziennie do wyboru inne menu na kolację. Piękny widok. Strome podejście do hotelu na pieszo. Blisko centrum. Położony w cichej okolicy. Bardzo dobra obsługa recepcji i obsługa kelnerska. Brak karty Filzmoos to chyba jedyny minus.

Bellissimo hotel fuori dal caos ed a contatto con la natura. Ad una cinquantina di minuti di auto da Salisburgo e da hallstatt consente la visita in giornata di questi posti, sebbene non tutti e due nello stesso giorno. Spa molto bella ed ampia ed ha anche una palestra. Ottima colazione al buffet ed ottima cena dove è sempre disponibile anche un menù vegetariano. Lo consiglio vivamente. Anche le camere sono belle ed è anche un ambiente pet friendly motivo per cui lo consiglio ancora di più!
