This hotel has a great location and friendly staff, but it's clear that it's in need of refurbishment. The rooms are outdated and could use some modernization to improve the overall guest experience.
Great location, very clean and quiet. Also, comfortable beds and good sized bathrooms. We stayed two nights. Quaint downtown Fort William is a 5 minute walk. If you are lucky enough to get tickets for the Jacobite Train then definitely stay here as the train station is also nearby (but you don't hear the train noise in the rooms). No breakfast or food served on premises but it isn't needed as there are so many restaurants close by. Also, free parking. I left my wedding ring in the room and they mailed it back to me in the U.S. and did not charge me--very nice and honest staff!
An absolute nightmare. We stayed in Fort William at Westcourt B&B for four nights. On day one we had the honeymoon suite, with jacuzzi. We wanted to enjoy the bath, but while we were in there, Charles knocked on our door several times (even though you can clearly hear that the jacuzzi is in use from the corridor, as we'd been told not to use it after 22pm). Eventually it turned out he wanted to introduce himself and try to sell us the room for more nights (because we had a cheaper room for the following days). Guest privacy was definitely not a thing. Since we had been hiking and camping for a week beforehand, in the rain, all our stuff was wet. When we asked if they had laundry facilities they referred us to laundromats for which we'd have to take a taxi to reach. We just wanted to dry things, so we spread our stuff over the room. When we came back in the evening, Charles met us in the hallway, as if he was waiting for us (which he did several times in a way which at least I found very creepy), to tell us that this was ”unacceptable” and we ”should be thrown out”. When we discussed a bit and said that we did not cause any damage to the room whatsoever, the stuff is just wet, not dirty, nor did we bother any other guests in the slightest, he went to make a completely inappropriate remark about our lifestyles saying ”I don't understand how you can live like this”, and that they couldn't perform any room service like this (although they had taken down all the things that were drying). When we tried to say that we don't need our room cleaned while we stay there, they said that it wasn't an option, it's included in the service, so asking for privacy is again not ok. The next day, when there had been room service, returned to our room to find our personal stuff that we like to keep on the nightstand, was moved into cupboards in the bathroom, so we had to look through the whole place to find them. If this all doesn't sound bad enough yet, we had a bit of drama also regarding payment, where Charles got agitated saying that there's no point to a bank card if you can't use it. This is because he already had my husband's card details (through ***********) and tried to just take money for the extra night in the honeymoon suite (this night was agreed on later, so not through ***********). Luckily my husband's bank has a safety mechanism which requires him to give the pincode if there's a new payment, but Charles could not offer a method for us to use the pincode, nor could he send a safe payment link. Eventually cash (without receipt) was the only option, because he also wasn't able to give his own IBAN number. So all in all, we felt extremely uncomfortable during our stay at Westcourt, and spent as little time in the B&B as possible, trying to avoid the hosts every time we went in and out. The breakfast was also not worth it at all, and not fresh (the same things lay there day after day), and also served only between 7:30 and 8:45, which can be extreme
Facilities and services include bar, breakfast room, disabled access, wheelchair access, internet, ironing facilities and restaurant.
Rooms feature cable/satellite TV, coffee/maker, hairdryer and shower.

ゲゲストWe were looking for accommodation in the Lochaber area as a base for a kayaking weekend, and Corran bunkhouse fit the bill perfectly. Everything is good quality, and the rooms are clean and functional - ours had a nice ensuite too. There is a large common room with comfy seating and a log burner which was a nice place to relax, but we usually ended up sitting in the communal dining kitchen. The kitchen had everything you could need to make from snacks to big meals, and there was plenty of food storage and fridge space. Plenty of space to sit and eat too. A really big plus was the two drying rooms, one off the kitchen which had a dehumidifier, and another outside, which allowed lots of wet gear to be dried quickly - a real bonus if you're there for a few days. The owner Alan couldn't be more helpful, and gave us tips on the best places to eat wherever we were going. I can thoroughly recommend getting the ferry over to Ardgour to the pub for food. A minute from the bunkhouse, its free for foot passengers, the crossing takes about 5 minutes, and is a nice way to go to dinner. Overall i cant recommend the place highly enough. A modern, clean and enjoyable place to spend a night or two.
We booked a family room for 2 nights. Room wasn't ready when we checked in at 3pm. Room did not look like any of the website photos as it seems there are no photos of the family rooms on the website. The room was very basic - only 2 coat hangers for 6 beds. Double bed against wall is not a comfortable option as you have to climb over partner to get in and out of bed. No chairs or anywhere to sit. TV doesn't have signal and there's nowhere to sit and watch it from anyway. Very slow wi-fi, so almost impossible to cast to TV. The emergency exit light on the ceiling was taped up. The kettle is not big enough for more than 2 people at a time, and it doesn't fit into the tiny sink to fill. View of car park - not the mountain or forest view as advertised. All in all the room was adequate for our stay but hugely over priced for what it was. The Nevis Range Bar was disappointing too, mainly because they weren't serving the full menu but you aren't made aware of that when you book. The toilets in the main facility needed cleaning, no loo roll or soap. It seemed that they had't been attended to the whole weekend we were there.
ゲゲストAbsolutely shocking! Don’t waste your money. Our room was tiny & you couldn’t open the bathroom door fully because the chairs were in the way. I really felt like the best rooms were given to the coach party guests & not the independent (or maybe English) travellers. The lounge was the only area to take drinks but unlike what’s advertised, the cosy fires consisted of electric plug in fake wood burners & worn, smelly sofas. (See photos) The restaurant was shockingly overbooked & understocked. We couldn’t get a decent meal on either night we stayed & felt they were more interested in the amount of covers v the quality. For a ‘celebrated’ seafood restaurant, to have very little seafood on the first night & even less, almost none on the second was disgusting. The bar staff were very rude & the manager nowhere to be found even though we asked many times to speak to them (I don’t like leaving a bad review before talking face to face). This hotel felt like theme park for the overseas coach parties and not what we wanted at all. At £250 a night??? Shockingly bad. If you want an authentic highland hotel, try the Altnahrra Hotel. A fraction of the price and the other end of the scale. Absolutely ruined our holiday at this dump
Really great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.
ゲゲストI really like this hotel. The view is amazing, and the reception is very friendly. They also have a restaurant and bar downstairs, which is really a saver for us after a long day of driving.
