We had a fantastic lunch today. We sat outside with a cracking sea view on a Sunday - sun on the shoulders and a parasol! The staff are just lovely - attentive and polite. We had cod, burger and pizza with a few drinks and coffee for around £100. Excellent value we thought. Best burger ever, very good pizza and excellent cod. Highly recommended but make sure you book!

We had high expectations, great looking venue and a good menu for people who appreciate good food like us. Started well with attentive service. Starters arrived. The main courses didn't arrive. Two waiting staff came to explain that the order hadn't been sent to the kitchen. When the main courses did finally arrive they were incomplete. The experience was not commensurate with the cost. Not great.

Stopped here for lunch. Right from the start the staff were friendly and helpful, we were asked if we wanted to sit in sun or shade [ very warm day} . Staff explained something on menu we weren’t familiar with, drinks arrived promptly. The food was well presented and delicious, I had baba ganoush, humus, tzatziki and pitta bread, my husband had fresh tomatoes with Mozzarella cheese, both dishes were delicious. They didn’t add gratuity automatically, it was left to us if we thought we had good service which we did. Would highly recommend if you ever in Yarmouth. Thank you

We have been staying at The George every year for over 20 (maybe 25) years now and it never fails to impress. The staff are always on point, friendly and laid back but with excellent customer focus, nothing is too much trouble. Food and drink is excellent, breakfast (always a good test of a hotel) is also excellent. Unfortunately I found that the Limoncello Spritz was particularly good, as did most of the family, so many were consumed over the course of the Bank Holiday. White wine was always perfectly chilled, another good test and several other cocktail variations were also 'tested' The garden is a great place to just sit back and chill out for a lazy afternoon/evening overlooking the Solent and the music is a perfect accompaniment, always just the right style for the time of day and mood. Rooms, we've stayed in most of them, are all of a high standard, comfortable and compliment the hotel style. We will be back soon, hopefully later this year !

Shocking yet again over priced food and drinks waited ages for drinks and food orders didn’t arrive at the same time And table surrounded by a build up of dead flies 🤮🤮🤮was the same last summer I really hoped they had improved they have not such a shame beautiful location but for the prices they charge shocking 🙈

We had a 1 night, mid week stay, for my wifes birthday. They gave us a complimentary upgrade for the occation. Good start. All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and knoledgeable. The room was excellent and well equiped, with a great view over the terrace, and the Solent. We had afternoon drinks on the terrace, also overlooking the Solent which was fab. no evening meal, but the breakfast was excellent. Not the cheapest, but very pleased, and would definately stay again. Nick and Debi

We stayed for one night. Parking is an issue really and expensive. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the view amazing from the balcony. We didn't eat here as last time we stayed we found that there wasn't much choice. Went to The Hut!! I would also like to say the breakfast is poor really. You shouldn't have to toast your own bread. It wouldn't take a minute to do a rack of toast and no coffee pots! Why? For the quality of the hotel it's a let down. Staff are very good.

Dropped in for a last minute dinner. Service was excellent, food was spot on, and the location is lovely. Definitely the nicest place we visited whilst in Yarmouth. Was just a shame it was rising whilst we were there so we were unable to enjoy the terrace!

We were visiting the island on a 5 day break when we we ventured into the George for a quick drink. I went to the bar to our drinks and ordered a pint of lager and a medium glass of rose wine. The bar staff poured the drinks and informed me that the cost was £21.25p. I FOUND THE COST OBSCENE and UNACCEPTABLE and I hope this review highlights to other visitors the EXTORTIANATE cost of visiting this establishment.
