Modern hotel which is easy to find if arriving by car on the edge of the city. Plenty of car parking Nice outside area to enjoy a drink or meal A good breakfast It’s a €15 ride into city centre Front desk were ok on check in - not exactly welcoming and all a bit robotic Typical business hotel with banging doors starting at around 7am The shower towels are the size of large hand towels which is always a disappointment when staying at a hotel The bar/eating area smells very strongly of cooking/frying in the evening which means that the kitchen needs better ventilation Not a bad stay but just a very modern faceless hotel
Booked this hotel s part of my road trip around Ireland. Initially I was very, very impressed. Foyer, reception were absolutely immaculate and well decorated and the staff were really, really helpful, polite and friendly. Cannot fault the staff here. Went to the bar for a drink before check in - again, staff were lovely and attentive. Went up to room (was told I had an upgrade). Hmm. The room I was in is starting to like a little bit tired now. About 10 years ago it probably would have been stunning but it is starting to look it's age a little bit. Don't get me wrong, very clean and spacious but is just lacking that wow factor that you get driving up to the hotel and in reception. Good facilities in the room - plenty of teas, coffees, toiletries, free drinking water, several clean, fluffy towels, iron, dressing gown, slippers - all the usual that you would expect! No problems here either. Free parking at the back and relatively close to town centre - takes about 15-20 min walk with some lovely scenery along the way. Was going to use the spa but was busy with other things - it looked lovely from the outside though. I guess it's just the room didn't meet the initial wow factor I had when arriving. Probably time to tart it up a bit but no doubt there are other, more expensive rooms that may be a little more luxurious and updated. I paid around £160 for mine. Smallish gripes, but just failed to deliver what it gives you on first impression / website.
We had a lovely stay in The Connought Hotel. The room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable. The hotels amenities were plentiful, very easy to get taxis, breakfast was delicious. Will definitely return.

Nice and very friendly staff. Beautiful room. We got free upgrade. Thank you so much for the treat.
Very clean, nice and updated with air conditioning. Beds were perfect, shower nice. Perfect location right across from Galway Girl statue and Quay pub right in center of everything. Staff was super friendly. Rooms are small hence snug but a great place for rest.
A mixup in booking with Stayforlong ( Don’t use this company very unhelpful trying to resolve booking issues) by myself was to be resolved by the reservation team so we booked 2 nights and had to pay the 2 nights as it was not resolved at time for payment. I am aware that this is outside the hotels control however I was lead to believe it would have been resolved. At check in we got an upgrade to 55 plus package with complimentary tea / scones and one 2 course dinner. When tried to book dinner next day one receptionist said we could book however the other said we could not very unprofessional. The reception staff were not very friendly perhaps they were under pressure. The hotel is very well located and rooms are very clean with comfy beds and cleaning staff very friendly. The leisure centre is excellent.
ゲゲストOur stay here was at the end of the trip and our second time in Galway. It’s an excellent location - just a 5 min or so walk from Eyre Square and a good place to stay if you’re going on one of the ferries. The room size was as expected and comfortable for 2 people. The breakfast is cooked to order and done very well. If you need a bus, it’s on a main line for one that goes to Eyre Square/Salthill. Above all, the atmosphere is welcoming. Will definitely stay there on future trips.
