We had just stayed at the hotel's 4☆ sister hotel Miramonti in Bango Di Romango and were so impressed with the service and food. It was an accident to book Grand Hotel Da Vinci. We were hoping for great things and the hotel lobby and enterence were lovely. We arrived at the impressive gates to the hotel to be told we had to go down a side street to what looked like a piece of waste land. OK, not a big issue. You then have to walk round the back of the hotel, where the staff were all smoking and shouting, where the workmen and bins were. And walk round a tented part of the hotel held together with wood. Not a great first impression. The reception staff were friendly but more proficient than affording personal service, so different to the Miramonti. We were told the restaurant was open for dinner from 19:30-21:00. Later we went back to the reception to book a table for dinner to be told, the restaurant was closed for a private party and we could eat in the room or lobby bar. The lobby bar had no character and literally is just part of the lobby. What 5 ☆ doesn't have another restaurant or the facility to put another room together for guests to dine in?? We were not amused. The room was spacious but a bit well!! Italian OTT. The view was over a roof top. There was 1 welcome cake for two people. No complimentary water nor tea or coffee facilities. Again not really 5 ☆ The terrace and outside pool was wonderful. Really gorgeous and well set out. Must be wonderful in summer. After the wonderful spa at the Miramonti and the thermal spa, we were so looking forward to the pool and spa as it looked stunning in the picture, from a distance it looked nice but it really need attention. Total lack of maintenance and care. See photos. At breakfast, it was 'adequate ', but as there were only a few guests there, it was a good opportunity for the staff service to shine, but we had to ask twice for a person to cook the omelettes, when the waiting staff entered the kitchen their was loud shouting, laughing etc as if there were no guests present. Very bad impression. What makes a hotel 5☆ is not the size of rooms, not the building or stunning external pool it is; the total attention to detail and to the customer experience and this hotel doesn't have that. It has the appearance of a 5☆ but for Northern Europeans, used to attentive and responsive service and an attention to detail, it is more a 3.5☆.

Iconic Rimini hotel. We loved the historic exterior and public areas, especially the Fellini lounge. The gardens are beautiful and the pool area was relaxing, if rather small given the size of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. On the negative side, the bedroom had a period charm but the furniture was old and not in an antique way. There was also a lot of ambient noise from the fridge which we disconnected at night and the AC, which we never managed to shut down. The bathroom in particular could do with a serious refurb. The spa looked good but we weren't going to pay Eur 80 per person just to use the sauna and sit by the indoor pool. There is a private beach but charging up to Eur 95 for loungers is a steep extra - that said, the room rate was reasonable. Service was polite but not exceptional. On the whole, we enjoyed the hotel but it is teetering on the edge of looking tired, some major investment will be necessary sooner rather than later.
Abbiamo selezionato questo Hotel tra quelli presenti nel pacchetto di Mirabilandia di 2 notti. Non appena ho prenotato li ho chiamati per sapere se avessero una spondina da inserire nel letto matrimoniale in quanto nostra figlia di 3 anni dorme con noi. In caso contrario mi sono reso disponibile a portarmela io da casa. Mi hanno riferito che avrebbero verificato e fatto sapere. Li ho richiamati io dopo una settimana e mi hanno risposto che ancora non avevano controllato, dopo mezz'ora un ragazzo gentile mi ha finalmente confermato che la avevano. Arriviamo la sera del giorno di check-in dopo essere stai al parco, ci accoglie una signorina molto gentile che ci dice comunque che ormai per quella notte non potevano richiamare il personale delle camere e quindi per la prima notte niente spondina (?). La mattina dopo gli ricordo di farcela trovare in camera e mi assicurano che non ci saranno problemi. La sera al nostro rientro, sempre la signorina mi dice che la dovrebbero aver già inserita e se non dovesse esserci, di richiamare in reception che avrebbero provveduto. Niente di tutto questo! Chiamo il ricevimento, non risponde nessuno, scendo e mi dice che al nostro rientro dopo cena la avremmo trovata in camera. Rientriamo e niente ancora. Il portiere di notte ci dice di attendere 10 minuti che ce l'avrebbero portata in camera (ore 23.10), a mezzanotte chiamo... ”si mi scusi ma abbiamo un problema da risolvere prima”...a quel punto mi sono davvero innervosito e riepilogato quando scritto anche in questa recensione. Ho risolto diversamente accostando il terzo letto alla parte della bimba e non gli ho aperto perchè SOLO DOPO ESSERMI ARRABBIATO AL TELEFONO, in 10 minuti sono arrivati con la benedetta spondina!!! Assurdo che per una cosa così stupida, il ricordo della vacanza sia rovinata dal menefreghismo /incompetenza/mancanza di comunicazioni tra personale. Per il resto mi associo a chi ha scritto che il bagno (soprattutto la doccia) è da rifare e pulire meglio. Ristorante ok. Non torneremo più.
