We were here the week before Easter. First of all the good bits. The area is beautiful, lots to see and do (but be prepared for lots of driving to get there, including to find any restaurants!) and the Domaine itself, if experienced at the right time, would be great. The units are a good size and private, with nice views. The bed was comfy and the shower pressure was great. On arrival we were given lots of helpful information. However the units, although equipped with most of what you really need, are pretty basic and kitchen items are not good quality at all, The bread knife would hardly have sliced through butter....it was all a bit 'rickety' - including a diining chair. The kettle poured very badly and is a scalding risk. Two wine glasses were cracked and we took them to reception, they were never replaced. And a mug had a big crack and very old repair. And our unit cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Granted, I did request a unit which had not been used for some time if possible, due to pet allergies (and the Domaine accepts animals). But I did not expect one which was quite dusty (I wiped the surfaces on arrival), with smeared dirty windows and mirrors, really dirty joints in the bathroom (I cleaned off a small patch just to illustrate the point), mouldy shower curtain hem which I guess simply hadn't been washed at the end of last season. We had taken our own bedding including quilt and pillows, which given the general dusty feel of the unit was fortunate. We also paid for end of stay cleaning. I hope the next people found the apartment in better condition than we did. I probably should have brought all this up at the time and requested a thorough clean (I did mention all points on their departure questionnaire) but to be honest I was a bit poorly and didn't have the energy nor the wish to be disturbed. But that doesn't change the fact that a unit should be clean for arrival. If outgoing guests do the cleaning, it should be inspected and remedied if necessary before the next arrivals. And to find the unit at the start of the season like this was doubly disappointing - what happened to spring cleaning and what's it going to be like towards the end of the season ? Sorry for the rant. To end on a more positive note, if these gripes are sorted out then the Domaine is a good place to be and there is lots to do in the area.
