A very relaxing stay. Beautiful tranquil surroundings. Very attractive imaginative high quality rooms. Friendly attentive staff. Excellent breakfast choice and food. A calm oasis with beautiful views towards the Wastwater fells from the lovely garden. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have been visiting 1692 for many years now and we have never been disappointed. Everything about this place is first class, the rooms, facilities the food and of course the team - it's a truly lovely place . Faith and Steve and all the staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Couple this with the fact that it is set in the most beautiful valley in the Lake District and you begin to get the picture. We can't wait to visit again!!!

Really well appointed, the bedrooms, lounge and dining area. Very comfortable with everything you need, including an electric car charger, without being at all fussy. Very friendly and helpful. The honesty bar is great as you are a little way out of Gosforth so being able to have a quiet drink before bed was great, and very sensibly priced. Will certainly go again.

It was the little touches that made all the difference, from the homemade cake awaiting us every evening to the coffee pods being labelled in the room. The decor is stunning as is the location which was ideal for our trek up Scafell Pike. The breakfast was plentiful and we found the whole experience very enjoyable. Will be returning and recommending to others.

My stay at 1692 Wasdale was so spectacular that it inspired me to write this review. As you can see I don't review places normally. There is literally not one vague criticism. The facilties were amazing, the bed really comfy, the bathroom total luxury, breakfast was exquisite, the lounge area provided another zone for calm relaxation. Faith, Steve and the kitchen staff were endlessly helpful and friendly without ever being over the top. They had excellent local knowledge and helped us navigate our first trip to the Lakes. The hot tub and alpacas were the icing on the cake. The renovations of the old barn have been completed beautifully too. My son loved feeding the alpacas with the carrots that Faith gave him to feed them. The scenery from the hot tub and surrounding silence with the exception of birds was like a slice of heaven. At 1692 Wasdale they have achieved the most relaxed accmmodation where everything is easy and no need is ever unmet. When we got home I said to my 8 year old daughter that I had to pinch myself to check I hadn't died and gone to heaven- she suggested I write that to you at 1692 Wasdale. So there we go, its true. Thank you so so much.

We stayed 3 nights and would have happily stayed for longer! Really is a "boutique/bespoke" B and B - every single aspect has been so carefully thought of with guest comfort at the heart of everything and we very much appreciated this. We hope to return before not too long. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful night's stay at 1692 Wasdale. We only stayed a night, but it was enough to make us say we we certainly be back as soon as we can. Can't speak highly enough of Steve - absolutely lovely man. So welcoming, accommodating, and really informative about the local area. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had in a hotel/b&b - all locally sourced ingredients, cooked fresh while you wait, and piping hot when served. The room was to die for. Really luxurious with everything you'd need and more. It was a surprise night away for my wife's birthday - thank you to all staff for making me very popular; we WILL be back again!

this was my first visit to the lake district and it is safe to say me and my partner were not disappointed. As a whole the lakes are beautiful and worth visiting alone but 1692 wasdale really made this trip perfect. It is a family owned and run business with very kind and attentive staff that aren't afraid to go that extra mile. I opt for the 'romantic package' including a bottle of prosecco, chocolate hearts, a bunch of flowers, chocolate strawberries and rose petals, which were beautifully displayed and didnt disappoint! the room we stayed in, 'the stone suite' was very clean and up-to-date with underfloor heating, electric blinds and overall a very modern touch. The hot tub was very clean and we were allocated a lengthy 2 hour slot which was more than enough time to relax. the honesty bar is also very well stocked and reasonably priced with something for everyone's taste. Not to mention, the breakfast. We had their breakfast both days we stayed and there was not a single thing to fault, well presented, tasty and filling with many options from continental to a full english. I would love to return in the future for another visit if i am within the area!

We just returned from the most perfect stay at 1692 Wasdale. We can not recommend this place enough - the rooms were beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, the hot tub was amazing! The additional touches really did make our weekend extra special - the freshly made cake was delicious! The staff were so friendly and helpful - they gave us some brilliant tips on the best walks and places to eat. Thank you to everyone at 1692 Wasdale for making our stay so wonderful - we hope to come back soon!
