After 20 years, my husband and I made a return trip to the Rockbridge/Bath Co area for our 23rd wedding anniversary and selected The Hummingbird Inn in Goshen, VA. What a wonderful weekend getaway and a LOVELY inn. Located between Lexington and Warm Springs, we found it convenient to the things we wanted to do/see in both those towns. Goshen is a very small town, you won't be walking to stores or restaurants, but that's the point. The area is so peaceful. The inn's hostess, Sandra, is energetic and welcoming. More than once she said "please make yourself at home" and that was easy to do. Our room was comfortable, great towels, pillows and sheets. There are multiple places on the property to relax. The gazebo by the creek was great, we sat on the wrap around porch, we reclined on the couch in the family room and sipped coffee in the solarium. Sandra and Jeff provide so many little touches that show they think beyond just providing a bed and a meal. When we entered our room Sandra had an anniversary card and chocolates on our dresser, which was a thoughtful gesture. The breakfast each morning was a feast for the eyes, so delicious and included many locally sourced ingredients, some from the inn's property. The inn was very clean and the property was very well maintained. The train did roll by both nights and we found it charming, not disruptive. The property has an interesting history and Sandra is happy to answer questions; you can tell she loves her home and business. We will be return customers. Thank you again for a lovely stay.
