Great stayed in Lake view country house. I was in Holly room for just one night and the room itself it superb clean. The rooms it self quite big and spacious. Plenty spaces and convenient car park. Nice and quite location. Great friendly owner. Good choices of breakfast. Definitely be back in near future.

We stayed at Lake View for 1 night on 23rd March, after we had taken part in a sports event in Grasmere. We asked to have the room earlier than the usual check in time as we wanted to shower and warm up after the event. Although Lake View couldn't guarantee early access, the keys were there around 12.30pm which was perfect. We stayed in 'Treetop' which was absolutely lovely. He room is finished to a high standard with classic decor and high quality fixtures and fittings. The bedding was lovely and soft and little touches like fresh ground coffee with a cafetiere and hot chocolate make a big difference. The bathroom was large with a lovely oval corner bath (note; there is no shower in this room but that is the only thing I would add, oh and the addition of a full length mirror would also be helpful). Having said that, still a 5 star stay. Would highly recommend! 👍

We stayed here for one night. On arrival I asked our host if we could have some fresh milk for the room. He replied that I could probably get some from the Co-op in the village. Bearing in mind that the host lives on site and we were the only two people staying that night - I had hoped that he would have given us some. The room was lovely - but I had expected a more accommodating host.

Great place to stop in Grasmere - close to the village, good car parking, and our room ("Holly") was perfect for the short time we spent in it - it was small with no outside views but had enough hanging space and room to move. Nice touches include proper ground coffee and a cafetiere in the room, or proper hot chocolate mix if you prefer, plus the usual selection of teabags etc. Shower was hot and powerful, as good as any I've used. The bed was so comfortable that as soon as I got home I ordered a new mattress having realised how uncomfortable our old one is. Breakfast is a short stroll up to the main road to "The Good Sport" and was excellent. Owners were extremely welcoming and helpful with advice etc. 10/10.

Amazing place with fantastic views. We stayed in the Fellview room which was very clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a separate living room. Richard was very friendly and he was there if we had any questions. The breakfast at the Grasmere Brewery was the best I have ever tasted. Will definitely be booking again!!

We stayed here at the weekend with our 5-year-old, the place was lovely and even better you can see yourself in your rooms. We appreciated the small touches in the room and my little girl loved the badger cam in the foyer, the location is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet place to stay in a lovely village and breakfast at The Good Sport was worth the money. We will be returning!

Lovely room and very clean. Brought our 4 month old and the owners were very welcoming and friendly making sure we had everything that we needed. Perfect location and lovely grounds. Breakfast at the good sport was spot on and we will defiantly be back again.

We stayed in the penthouse. The weather did us a favour and kindly stopped raining for most of our first full day and the sun most definitely shone on the second. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains from both the rooftop terrace and the bedroom window were fabulous! The bed was extremely comfy as were the pillows. The kitchenette was very functional and had everything we needed to make our stay quite comfortable. The welcoming glass of port and chocolates were much appreciated as was the welcome we received from the owners. Breakfast was great, well cooked and presented. All in all, a memorable stay to celebrate my special birthday. Thank you so much - we will be returning in the non too distant.
