グルーネウェイド(Groeneweide Farm)

Groeneweide is amazing. We've stayed at Groeneweide a few times and find ourselves returning there each time we need fresh air again. We enjoyed the tranquility and the kids loved the vast play area and farm animals. Our son enjoyed assisting Matilda with some gardening. If you're into parkruns, you'll be able to do the Groeneweide Parkrun on a Saturday. Matilda and the staff are amazing and we always feel at home there. Thanks for making each stay a memorable one.

An amazing place that caters for all .relaxing fun adventure!!!!! The kids loved the placed , the walks have the perfect view.The accommodation was great .and the on site farm restaurant organic food was so good .

Lovely stay, peaceful and tranquil. Easy to get to other places. Surrounded by beautiful scenery with large rooms and all facilities to be self sufficient if required. Hosts were great, there if needed invisible when not!

The house itself was just what we were looking for. You have a view of the pond, the farm and the see from the front, and the mountains at the back. We enjoyed walking down to the restaurant and feeding the animals. There is a small market in Gaansbaai on a Saturday that I would highly recommend. The croissants are delicious, as are the bottled foods.

The host was very welcoming. Everything was in abundance, especially the wood!! The unit was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very well planned. The Wi-Fi perfect if you need to have a meeting. Lastly, the farm is very save and private, you have your own gate.

Blombos House is a lovely modern two bedroom house in a stunning farm setting. We have travelled to many towns in South Africa and used many self-catering establishments. Blombos House was the neatest and cleanest we have ever stayed in and the attention to detail is amazing. For example not only is there wood for making a braai but also kindling to get the fire started. Everything, the linen, towels, cutlery, utensils, etc was spotless.

Groeneweide was everything that it appeared to be on the booking and information sites. Peace and quiet with great views of the mountains and the ocean were the order of the day. The house is set up for two couples in en-suite double bedrooms and a shared open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The double bed was a bit narrow for someone used to wider queen and king sized beds. Every item of crockery, cutlery, kitchen gear, braai gear and even braai wood was provided. A gas stove and invertor ensured that loadshedding blackouts did not spoil the stay, even when a 4 hour blackout followed another 4 hour one only 4 hours later. The WiFi router worked 24/7. There wasn't a TV or radio. A situation easily overcome by using a mobile phone linked to the WiFi. The venue is on a true farm with plenty of open space to walk around, mingle with some of the animals and generally "chill" to use a current term. An excellent and very attractive 5km parkrun route (Groeneweide) is permanently marked and available to guests at any time. The Franskraal and area's beaches are only a couple of km away, in fact walking distance for those so inclined. The owners and hosts are actively and personally involved in the running of the facilities on the farm. A restaurant and nursery operate on the farm. Groeneweide is one of the few places to which we plan to return. With our grandsons next time.

The cottage we stayed in is situated at the back of the farm against the mountains - far removed from the noisy bustling crowds. It's peaceful and quiet, with only the sound of the breeze, and farm animals in the distance. The farm is a short drive (5 to 10 min) away from the sea, with lots of secluded rock pools to explore. Soft shoes are recommended (to avoid hurting your feet on the sharp rocks or damaging the unspoiled choral and sea life by stepping on them). The water is clean but very cold - perfect on a hot day - but extra insulation is maybe needed on cooler days. There is a restaurant on the farm serving breakfast and lunch. Kuslangs in Franskraal has the best fish and chips. The great white shark restaurant nearby also has very good seafood. It seems to be quite popular so make a reservation before you go. Our host was very welcoming and polite. The cottage is very well kept, clean, and secure. The bathrooms are spacious and there is plenty of hot water. We had more than enough room for three of us to have our personal space. The kitchen has all of the cooking essentials. We felt completely at home and could just completely unwind.

A beautiful Farm stay , in the true sense of the word , wonderful location and picturesque vistas, walking trails and a stones throw from beaches , highly recommended, Hosts were friendly, informative and best of unobtrusive, large rooms walk in showers , fireplace and everything you need for self catering, One for your bucket list
