Very comfortable accommodation in this heritage house in the Houwhoek village. Highlights are the South African art collection on the walls and in the gardens and the authentic experience of an owner-run establishment with a strong sense of place, history and community

Beautiful and peaceful setting, with welcoming owners and staff. Birch cottage was a fantastic spot for us as we were attending a wedding 5 mins walk down the road.

A well organised trail. The guides were knowledgeable and made the hikes very interesting giving us information about the plants and wild life. A highlight was the delicious breakfast and snacks provided en route! The trials themselves were well chosen through the most spectacular countryside and mountain scenery.

Such a beautiful place. The most lovely home and staff and owner who came to great when we landed. Alison is a great host. We loved our room so much overlooking the mountains. They arranged for a beautiful hike for us through the Finbos and amazing breakfast and dinner every day. The pool was lovely and refreshing and they have three beautiful rescue dogs who kept us entertained and we felt less homesick, having the energy of the animals. Cannot wait to go back!

Loved our stay at this serene country home, surrounded by rolling vineyards. The walking trails were fantastic, and we spent our mornings hiking the Green Mountain trail. Wildekrans epitomizes the essence of tranquil luxury, where the food is as breathtaking as the views.

Wildekrans Country Lodge embraces the visitor with an old world charm . You feel at home in a bygone , elegant , well looked after Manor house , the lounge is yours to sit and choose a book from a vast selection , accept a cup of tea and a home made piece of carrot cake . The beds are comfortable , the linen very pleasant , caring touches everywhere. The garden a beautiful almost untouched ground for fairies , peaceful , you want to sit and read or paint allowing your soul to rest. So many areas to sit and just Be . The Barn invites you for a healthy breakfast with garden roses on linen table cloth . Take your walking stick and venture out into the mountains with a guide ! No doubt you have found a little paradise !

We stayed at Wildekrans and walked the Green Mountain Trail. It was an unforgettable experience and everything about it surpassed my expectations. The walks themselves were beautiful, well planned and expertly led and coming back each day to Wildekrans began to feel like coming home - but without the work. Alison, the owner of Wildekrans is a wonderful and very generous host. It's a beautiful farmhouse with stunning views and garden. The homecooked food is utterly delicious - thankyou Annie - and of course some great wines.
