The front desk staff were so kind and helpful. I had a problem with noisy nights and they provided me with a quiet room. I appreciate their help.

Had this incident not happen, I would have said wonderful stay. For someone who wants the basics and pay really cheap and be in a great downtown location, it is perfect! As I said, I would have recommended if I had not forgotten my 2 pieces of clothing in the room and had so much trouble receiving help finding them. The same evening after I checked out, I realized I forgot 2 pieces of clothing. After emptying my entire suitcase and seeing they were missing, I called them and was told it was not found. After I insisted, they said no one could check the room again that night but promised I would be called back the next day. No one ever called back the next day; I had to call 5 times to get answers, and every time I was promised a call back that I never actually got. The last time I called, an hour after being promised a call back within 15 minutes, they said they did not find anything and they could not do anything for my missing items valued at almost 200$. They make you sign a waiver at check in saying « not responsible for any stolen items » so they won’t to do do anything about it. In conclusion, I had to CHASE down an answer by calling a total of 7 times in 24 hours, they honestly did not seem to care for my situation at all, and I felt no empathy or desire to help, nor did I receive any apologies. Anyways, I still don’t have my items, so I assume they were either discarded or stolen, and it really ruined the whole trip.

It was nice to have separate rooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom. A shared kitchen was next door. We never missed tv because we had our own laptops, and the Wi-Fi was great. But you should bring your own shampoo and bar of soap because theirs is tiny. Also there's no fan in the bathroom so the mirror gets fogged up. It's very safe with a locked entrance and locked elevator - only unlocked by swiping your keycard.

Its good if your looking for cheap if you want a place to sleep this isnt it. You will hear every door on the floor above you and down the hall slam close, try sleeping when at 2-30 to 4 am people are slaming the hall doors shut ever 4 - 10 minutes

Very helpful staff. Excellent security to the building, elevators and rooms. Loved the pictographic signs in the corridors showing us where we could find laundry, food options, etc.

Given that we made a fairly late decision to go to Halifax on Canada Day weekend, we had few choices for affordable accommodation, so we decided to try Dalhousie. For the price, it is reasonable accommodations, and the students who run the front risk are certainly friendly and enthusiastic. But if you’re used to standard hotel rooms, you will be disappointed. No TV Z(except in the common room), a single bed, no shampoo (they do provide soap), and, of course, a shared bathroom. Location is OK for getting into downtown Halifax. Public transit service is frequent and cheap and it is walkable if you’re fit. I wouldn’t recommend for olde people, but young people on a budget would surely find this an economical option.

Very friendly staff and has a parking lot in downtown Halifax. No need to look for parking space when visiting downtown.

For the price and the location. It was more than I expected. I felt like the value was excellant and what I was lacking in room aesthetic was made up for in quiet peacefulness, excellant service, and a fairly clean room that was located in really walkable location near transit that suited my needs.

The University is in great proximity to sites, food, shopping, and entertainment. Although it is a short taxi ride from the train station, it is possible to walk on a beautiful day. This place is clean with a very helpful, informed, young staff. If anything, I would advise contacting the University first to find out your specific dorm of residence as Orbitz is known to just provide a general dorm address. Also, contact the University ahead of time in regards to payment for your stay as this is another area in which Orbitz still needs to correct. Even if you click the "pay now" option with Orbitz, your reservation will in reality just be a hold and you will have to pay the full amount upon arrival. Other than these two areas in which Orbitz has to make improvements; one will be delighted with this choice...especially if you are considering or have any family or friends considering studying at the college level in Canada.
