Had to sleep my first night with the lights on as there was no way of switching off until maintainer came the next evening. This is good if you want to be able to walk to the front and see Ha long bay but I would personally stay in City of Halong where the cruises leave from an night life is as is very quite in evenings.
A beautiful hotel with absolutely stunning views of Halong Bay. We were in a twin room on the 12th floor which was quiet at night, with an incredible view of the bay and overlooking the pool - possibly the best view I’ve ever had. The service was great and the staff all very polite, friendly and helpful. There is good variety in the restaurants and prices are reasonable for what you receive. We also took full advantage of the grand spa, which offers a full range of treatments at a reasonable price. The spa staff could possibly have been a touch more professional (there was giggling which wasn’t totally appreciated) and the reflexology was much more of a leg massage, however we still enjoyed our treatments and for the price versus time of treatments we were happy. Location of the hotel is beautiful and away from the busy hustle and bustle of the city, though this means taxis are necessary in order to get anywhere. Hotel staff are very happy to help you organise these taxis though which made things very accessible. Overall a lovely stay and I would certainly stay here again.
KKytchermaineWe had a fantastic time on the cruise! The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, the itinerary was well-paced, and the rooms were spacious and luxurious, featuring a bathtub with a jacuzzi and a standing shower overlooking Ha Long Bay.
The journey began with a 40-minute ferry ride to the Venus Halong Cruise, where staff handled our luggage and guided us through check-in. Lunch was served at 12:30 PM, followed by a visit to Dark and Bright Cave at 2:30 PM. Due to low tide, we couldn’t pass through but still enjoyed the bamboo boat ride.
Though it was too cold to swim in January, we had fun making Vietnamese spring rolls. Dinner featured fresh seafood, including lobster, with reasonably priced drinks. Wi-Fi was weak, but we were informed beforehand.
The next morning, we skipped Tai Chi due to the cold but joined the fishing village tour before brunch. We checked out and were ferried back to land by 11:00 AM.
Overall, it was a relaxing and scenic experience with stunning views of over 2,000 limestone islands. I just wish there were more activities onboard. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!
