ホテル ベルモア イム ダムトロパレ(Hotel Bellmoor im Dammtorpalais)

This is not really a hotel, more like an old-fashioned boarding house or B&B. It's one of five similar establishments situated in an over 100 year old, bourgeois apartment complex. The hallways and breakfast room are stately and beautifully decorated, but the rooms are of a low standard. I had a single room, which was very small and poorly furnished. The bedside lamp was impossible to turn on, so they changed it with one that was broken. The bathroom was really tiny. The room was on the Moorwedenstrass seide of the building, overlooking a very busy street and train line (close to the Dammtor station), so quite noise from very early till very late. I only stayed there to be close to the Univeristy. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the breakfast harty.

The hotel is old, but location was great room was nice, clan, comfortable and big.

When I booked this hotel and read the reviews, I was a little curious what to expect, until I realized that all the negative reviews are about the small rooms. Stayed in a deluxe double room and had nothing to complain. Sure, it’s an old building - but that contributes to its charm. Not a big fan of carpet on the floor, but I guess that comes with the charm if an old building. Breakfast is served at the table and is more than sufficient according to western european standards. So, don’t hesirate if your budget allows one of the bigger rooms.

It's such a charming old hotel with really friendly staff in a really beautiful part of the city.

Charming Hotel with good location,near to Dammtor Bahnhof and CCH. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. No aircondition , open Windows worked well.

Great location but outdated rooms

Das Hotel war total alt, die Möbel angeschlagen, das Badezimmer so klein, dass man die Tür offen lassen musste, wenn man sich umdrehen wollte, die Wände so dünn, dass man von allen Seiten die Nachbarn hörte und die Bolen bewegten sich, das man im Zimmer merkte und hörte, wenn draußen jemand durch den Flur ging. Der Preis war im Verhältnis der Leistung viel zu hoch. Wir haben die Tage später in anderen Großstädten in guten Hotels für 1/3 übernachtet. Bei denen dann auch noch die Zimmer und Badezimmer wesentlichen besser ausgestattet/ größer waren. Leider war in Hamburg wohl irgendeine Veranstaltung, so dass an dem Tag alle Preise so extrem überzogen waren, dass dieses Hotel auf den ersten Blick noch günstig erschien. Die Mitarbeiter waren aber wirklich sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Als Hamburger ein Hotel in Hamburg buchen. Es war nur eine Nacht, für eine Veranstaltung in der Nähe. Es war eine sehr gute Entscheidung, beim nächsten Mal gerne wieder
