Canareef Resort Maldives

1974, il nostro viaggio di nozze ci ha portati alle Maldive, meta sconosciuta anche alla maggior parte delle agenzie di viaggi.. C'era un unico resort ed un'altro in costruzione. Siamo tornati alle Maldive moltissime volte e negli ultimi 12/15anni abbiamo sempre festeggiato lì il nostro anniversario, quasi sempre in resort differenti. A gennaio/febbraio scorsi siamo stati al Canareef .. A gennaio 2024 torneremo al Canareef per festeggiare lì i nostri 50 anni di matrimonio !!

Très bel hôtel avec un personnel tous au top! Sur une île toute en longueur, il présente beaucoup de chambre mais la configuration permets de se retrouver seule sur une plage! Nous avons des vélos à disposition permettant de se balader hyper simplement, sinon ils ont des petites voiturettes qui viennent vous chercher à la demande. On y mange très bien. Un super deej ShAsHe qui met l’ambiance et transmet sa bonne humeur! Volley ball l’aprem génial… Belles excursions proposées, rencontres de pleins de belles personnes. Vacances de rêves (malgré la pluie) Maintenant il est important de signaler que cet endroit paradisiaque se trouve le plus au sud des Maldives, ainsi : 1- après l’arrivée à Male, il faut compter pas mal de temps avant l’arrivée à l’hôtel et encore plus en fonction de synchronisation de la correspondance… ça en vaut la peine. Mais il est mieux d’y être prépare psychologiquement 😉 2- les plages sont magnifiques mais il y a des algues dès les premiers pas dans l’eau. Cela ne m’a pas empêché de me baigner mais certain peuvent être déçu… Je recommande chaudement ce bel établissement.

Ho soggiornato al Canareef nella prima metà di marzo con la mia famiglia. Scrivo solo adesso perché questo posto rimane nel cuore e nella mente per la sua semplicità, per la pace , la natura incontaminata e un grandissimo staff. Se cercate un angolo di paradiso in tutta tranquillità siete nel posto giusto, potete assaporare l isola chiamando il servizio buggy o affittando gratuitamente la bici, personalmente consiglio la seconda scelta così che potete fermarmi di tanto in tanto per regalarvi un momento tutto per voi ascoltando il dolce suono dell'oceano o per gustarvi dei tramonti indimenticabili. La parte più bella é la zona del beach bar, il regno di Hemal , il bagnino che sarà felice di accompagnarvi a fare snorkeling o a darvi tantissimi consigli. Di sera invece quando volete scatenarvi in discoteca o ascoltare della musica giocando a biliardo o a ping pong, c'è l energia di Shashe il dj. Dobbiamo ringraziare poi tutto lo staff della cucina e della ristorazione, in particolare Ashraf che ci ha sorpreso con delle bellissime decorazioni di compleanno, ma anche tutte le ragazze meravigliose e gentilissime del bar. Tutti coloro che si occupano del giardinaggio e della manutenzione e fanno sì che il vostro soggiorno sia perfetto. Purtroppo alla reception sono così bravi da esser riusciti a stamparci i biglietti per il ritorno, altrimenti saremmo rimasti ben volentieri Consigli? Sebbene ci sia wi fi staccate la spina, godetevi la pace. Speriamo di tornare presto

Returned yesterday from Canareef but want to give my honest review as everyone has a different opinion and I was worried after reading reviews from one extreme to another if I had made the right choice. The trip to get here was long, 3 planes and a boat. This was a birthday surprise for my wife and she had no idea where she was going until we got to male. We were greeted off the boat by the staff with cold towels and fish reed necklaces along with a fresh chopped coconut water. Makes you feel special. We were taken to our rooms by buggy and our cases followed 10mins late. Jacuzzi villa was really spacious. We were in 691 literally right at the southern part of the island, initially we were concerned about this because we were far from the restaurant and bars but as we liked the south beach bar so much it actually worked out better for us. I was disappointed with the beach walk out as you literally couldn’t. Some villas were much better for this. We also complained about water pressure and sockets not working and what looked like dead insects in the draws. I asked to be moved but they made every excuse not to do this and told us they would sort the problems. Sockets and water they did but in the end I had to get the room boy to remove the insects. That’s where the complaints ended. The island is beautiful. Yes it’s big and you are provided bikes to get around which we loved as we like these type of things. We’re not the type of people to lye in the sun all day and like to be busy. There’s so much to see in the water lots of fish and coral, loads of different photo spots. The staff in the dhoni bar are lovely and always smiling, Venkat at the beach bar is a top guy and they always work so hard. The food in the restaurant is what you would expect from that part of the world with other cuisines dropped in daily. Always plenty to choose from. We also paid extra for a dinner under the stars which is probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had and the experience was truly brilliant.A big Shout out to Didi, who was a great excursion guide and also runs the entertainment he’s a lovely man. Would I go back? In a heart beat I would. The place is amazing and the staff are too, you can pay more and go to other places for luxury but for us this place was perfect and we will be going back. If they could just sort the mini bar out. Everyone wants a beer on the front porch or in the hot tub. The wild life on the island is cool also, spiders, lizards and bats! I’ve never seen so many crabs in one place it’s crazy. If you read this and are considering it then go for it, if you like adventure and fun this is the place. If you’re stuck up and want to lie there and be waited on hand and foot go somewhere else.

Nous rentrons d'un sublime séjour de 10 nuits au Canareef. L'hôtel est située sur une ile magnifique de 4,1 km et se fond parfaitement dans la nature (les bungalows ne sont pas visibles depuis la plage mais de votre bungalow, vous voyez la plage et vous êtes à moins de 30 mètres du lagon). Nous avions une chambre avec jacuzzi côté lagon. Extraordinaire ! Pour vos réservations de chambre (avec ou sans jacuzzi), reservez côté lagon car côté océan vous ne pourrez pas profiter de la plage à cause des cailloux et des rouleaux). Les plages côté lagon sont magnifiques : eau turquoise et sable blanc. Côté snorkeling : magie, extase et bonheur ! Sur les plages des bungalows, avec de la patience vous pourrez nager tous les jours avec des tortues (notamment en face de la chambre 139 aux alentours de 10h30 à marée basse) pendant plus d'une demi heure et les accompagner vers le large après leur repas; constitué des plantes marines. A la plage du beach bar, il y a également un spot extraordinaire de snorkeling pour admirer de très beaux poissons. N'oubliez vos crèmes solaires indice 50 et de légères chaussures de plage pour vous prémunir des coraux. Côtés excursions, nous avons pris l'option de les faire avec le WaterSport (et non la réception de l'hôtel) situé à coté du Dhoni Bar. Toute l'équipe est sympathique et les excursions sont à couper le souffle. L'excursion privée dauphins + snorkeling à 180€ vaut vraiment le coup. Nous avons été amenés (mon épouse, moi même et nos deux accompagnants) en plein océan indien (sans autres bateaux à côté) pour admirer une bonne centaine de dauphins faire leur show à côté de nous. Pour le snorkeling, ils vous emmèneront sur un spot extraordinaire de coraux et poissons, différents de ceux de l'hôtel. L'excursion jet ski et snorkeling est également magique. Outre la beauté visuelle; que dire de ce silence reposant. Le personnel aux bars et restaurant est très gentil et serviable. Le seul point noir de ce jour fût l'animatrice Linda de Ovoyage. Elle a brillé par son absence, ses animations "au feeling" (sic) (en réalité, elle n'en fait pas hormis une pétanque de bienvenue à notre arrivée) et ses paroles ubuesques : "mes amis, je ne suis pas gérer vos problèmes". Linda, nous sommes tes clients ! En guise de conclusion, une île et un resort à recommander

Séjour du 25 janvier au 6 février, simplement magnifique, génial, tout est super, le staff agréable disponible et très professionnel, le buffet top très bon et raffiné, les serveurs d'une extrême gentillesse, plage magnifique avec de jolis poissons colorés, tortue, raie manta, bébé requin, que du bonheur, je recommande ce resort. Par contre le club oh voyage et son animatrice Linda, enfin sois disant... inexistant, pas professionnel du tout, impoli, si vous avez besoin de rien demandé Linda, ce club ne sert a rien du tout, ce n'est même pas un club d'ailleurs, seul le staff du ressort est présent, professionnel disponible et s'occupe des animations

Были в этом отеле в октябре 2023 года. До сих пор чудесные воспоминания не отпускают. Большой отель по меркам Мальдив, много растительности, можно гулять под кронами пальм почти по всему острову, а это более 4 км. По-моему 4 озера на острове - много уютных мест для релакса. Можно поехать на соседний остров - там есть мост между островами. Забавно посмотреть как живут местные. Очень мило и супер дружелюбно. Мы жили на стороне океана, мы открывали двери бунгало и морской бриз убаюкивал по ночам. Еда вкусная, даже очень, стафф очень милый, всё было выше всяких похвал.

We spent a miserable three days at Canareef in December and the only reason we were there for 3 days is because we couldn’t leave any sooner. The island is advertised as a Maldivian paradise but nothing could be further from the truth. The white sand beaches were made up of large pieces of coral that can’t be walked in without footwear, the bicycles provided for getting around (2 miles from small swimming area to restaurant) were a one size fits all which meant that I was fine but my partner struggled with hers. With regard to the restaurant, I’m not especially fussy, but I struggled to find food that was worthy of a canteen let alone a four star resort. Thankfully we managed to transfer (at our own cost) to another 4 star resort and the difference was chalk and cheese. The staff were all very good but the one thing they all said was that Canareef is the cheapest resort in the Maldives and that the cost is a reflection of the transfers which are long. Male to Addu city is 1.5 hours on a scheduled flight and then a speedboat to the resort. My opinion is AVOID this place like the plague. There are much better resorts at a similar price. Nous ne sommes qu'aux premiers jours de notre séjour et tout est parfait ! L'hôtel est très bien conçu, l'île fait 4kms de long et on peut la parcourir en buggy (avec chauffeur) ou bien à vélo (mis à disposition). La nourriture est assez variée, le personnel est vraiment très bienveillant, efficace, gentil et professionnel. Nous prenons un grand plaisir à aller écouter Dj Shqshe au Dhoni restaurant. Ses transitions sont parfaites, le rythme est jeune et vraiment idéal pour faire la fête. Nous sommes ravis d'avoir réservé ce séjour pour notre lune de miel!
