Myself and wife travelled to the Princesa last week, our checkin was very quick and we were allowed access to our room a few hours early. Immediately the friendliness of the staff was evident they genuinely couldn't do enough for us. The food was off a high standard with excellent vegetarian options everything served was very hot. The entertainment was very enjoyable and suitable for all age groups. The sun terrace was really beautiful a lovely place to relax and have a drink. The Hotel is a 10 min walk to the old town and the Beach. In summary we would 💯 go back to the RH Princesa and would say it lives up to its 4* Status Paul & Mandy Northern Ireland
Great stay in the ambassador as per usual, lovely hotel. We stay here once or twice a year and our family without fail stay here when they travel. Hotel is spotless. Spa is the best about. Restaurant food is great although we have been twice to this hotel this year and only eaten in the restaurant half board three times but that is because we just haven’t made it back to eat but we like the option that we have that choice and the ambassador for the value of money, is just a great hotel to stay in. And we have stayed in other hotels, The Bellroy, Sandos etc. Our BUT this time is and I’ve never had a BUT before is. It’s November and the rooms are boiling, we have hardly slept and we are both back to work the next day we are home. We went to reception to the older fella, (not the best person to put behind a desk) and said our air conditioning doesn’t work and the room is like an oven, to which he replied. There is no air conditioning, the whole hotel is run of the same system and we only have heat on for the hotel at this time of year. Which is a cop out, the same system, never heard that in my life before ? So when we were here in July and put our Air Conditioning on was every other person in the hotel getting the same coolness we were getting. I’m not going to lie but it did spoil this break for us. We are knackered
Just returned after 6 nights here with friends . We had a pool view room , although there is not a lot of difference in the views for the extra to be honest.its all high rises. Check in was pleasant and quick . We found the reception staff to be helpful and cheerful at all times . In fact I cannot understand previous bad reviews regarding the reception staff. Our room was bright and clean, with fridge and safe ( free unlike other penny pinching hotels that charge) 2 bottles of water complementary. The beds were very comfortable and the housekeeping good and reliable. The showers were nice too. Sadly, the pool bar was never open, so if you wanted a drink you had to go down to the next level to get a drink. Not good and a pain . The bar and reception area is kept spotless by the staff and the bar staff are constantly making sure you are ok for a drink and friendly too. We were booked half board. Breakfast was super and up there with the best . Evening meal was adequate but could get a bit repetitive. Sadly some of the dining room staff were not very nice and banging things down and are obviously not happy. In fact one of the cooks was very abrasive with my brother, who has dementia. ( a course on dementia would be useful here) My brother did mention this to the dining room desk one night on the way out . But we had no feedback.. The entertainment was clearly for elderly Spanish guests ( 90% of the clientele here) which was not for us so we went out most nights . On return at night the hotel is very quiet as they all go to bed after the entertainment at midnight ( quite a few , we noticed were elderly people clearly not residents of the hotel ) However, we were happy with the peace and quiet as this hotel does not attract the younger or the stag and hen dos , which suits us. So, if you are looking for a lively place it wouldn’t be for you . On saying that , it’s central and there are many great bars with decent entertainment all within walking distance. I would definitely recommend for more peaceful oriented people or those in the retirement age bracket.
Right now Im a guest here and I need to share this awful experience I can talk with knowledge. We did visit this hotel every year since the last 5 years and we are absolutly disappointed on this visit: - Food with less quality and variety, personnal on breakfast and dinner not very friendly, looks always angry, if one food ends, no one put more or refill - Maintenance needed in different zones, pool, terraces furnitures to seat at night not in good shape - Part of terra mitica is closed and no one inform you previous your arrive, even callung previous week to check (uninformed reception) - *Terrible organization and management of one big football event guests, around 600 pax filling the hotel, we can't sleep most of the nights of our holidays because the noise and uncontroled groups, kids and teenegers - The quality of room and installations not worth anymore the very high compared to ithers 4 stars of the zone *Just 5 minutes ago happen this (unbelievable) 1. We did call 2 times to reception to ask for control of the noise (11:20 and 11:50) kids was running and screaming 2. Around midnight someone of security knocks our door...to ask WHO was borhering us ??? We cant believe the question...our answer: is not about WHO, but WHY we have all this noise at midnight...this person just say to the kids, if not go to silence, Police coming 😶 3. Reception personnal was so polite useless, they literally said dont know what to do....but tomorrow talk with some boss.... By the way we did warning since yesterday about this, and none apply actions or really listen us on reception. Summary, not recommend this hotel if u want to enjoy your holidays and be relaxed, trusting the hotel CAN manage the situations THEY. accept... Thx for read PD: Last year we coincide with a Salsa dance festival, hotel was full but still enjoyable ...in the last months is clear something change....owner or mgmt, but was a bad change.... on track to loose loyals clients like us
I spent 5 nights at the Melia from the 10/11/24.on arrival I had pleasant check in to room 810.The room was clean and the view good over the pool. There are a few things a bit iffy about the room but I am sure they will be corrected The bath has been marked and touched up with paint which is not pleasant to look at. The sealant around the bath/shower needs redoing and has had its day. The door stop on the floor comes adrift leaving the door able to go back to far. Apart from these minor faults I enjoyed my stay The breakfast was good, the staff were great and polite and I heard no noise at night. So for me the Melia is good and I would stay again, but I hope these faults get corrected because if I had gone with my wife and not friends I think her review would be different Great festival week. Keep up the great hospitality Melia,I hope to see you again
