ウルスラズ ホームステッド(Ursula's Homestead)

If you want to stay in simple, quiet and affordable accommodation overlooking a plain with a waterhole on the edge of the Victoria Falls private game reserve, this is perfect. There are just 4 detached rondavels along with a swimming pool, dining area and lots of seating areas to watch the wildlife. We watched giraffes, antelopes of many varieties, zebras and troops of baboons every day. The wildlife was prolific. They provide a transfer service into Vic Falls and for any activities you book and, will also book everything for you and work out an itinerary which allows time to relax too. Do book enough days to do everything and be able to also enjoy the peace. We were very, very well looked after here. You can also take advantage of the posh lodge adjoining and they will shuttle you there and back. We had a roadblock of elephants one evening meandering along the approach road. The safari vehicles also pick you up straight from Ursula’s for evening game drives which are excellent. We saw game on several reserves and countries in Southern Africa and the rangers and animal variety here were the best. We even saw a leopard and genet, lions and cubs. Ursula’s needs a refurb but will no doubt be swallowed up by Stanley & Livingstone at that point, so book it while you can. Thank you all for looking after us so well. Sending love x

Ursula’s Homestead is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and professional. The situation is excellent and the breadth of wildlife that roam the waterhole is stunning. I would recommend busting Ursula’s Homestead to everyone who may be travelling to Victoria Falls.

Review for August 2019 not 2023 (wouldn't let me go that far back) Sorry for the very late review. This place is simply magical. We stayed for 4 nights in the middle of a 1 month trip around Africa and this was the standout accommodation during this trip for us. Our only regret is we could actually spend a full day there relaxing as we had a busy itinerary around the falls Ursulas only has 4 lodges so its nice and quiet/remote, yet still close enough to the Victoria falls and also set right on the edge of a watering hole in the game reserve. We arrived at night coming from the city of Cape town where we were greeted by the main lady who sat us down at our table for two and served an outstanding meal with wine. I will never forget the moment we sat down with our wine and seeing my partners face when a couple of elephants came for a drink at the watering hole. All you could see was the silhouettes of these animals in the moonlight accompanied with the distant noises of the Bush and the water splashing from their trunks. I can't remember the lady's name in charge but i wish i could as she was outstanding ensuring we had the best time. The whole staff were top quality tbh from the drivers to the kitchen and cleaners. Nothing was too much trouble. Ursulas offer free rides into town including pick up as well and they were very flexible. Ursulas also arranged a private tour in the reserve (100% recommended btw) where you are picked up from the lodge and are instantly driving in the reserve. Here we saw everything we wanted and in our experience we actually got better encounters with the animals than we did when we moved on to the masai mara, Kenya. We even got to see a new baby rhino right up close! There was also some snacks and drinks in the Bush with our driver which was something special as we were the only guests that day. Thank you ursulas for an unforgettable experience. I will be taking these memories all the way to the retirement home, I can only hope this place is still around and still the same when we decide to visit again.

Milly was very welcoming on our arrival and throughout our stay. Check in was quick and efficient. The entire staff was friendly, accommodating and made us feel at home. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. The food, drinks and service were upscale and fantastic. The location is close to Victoria Falls and river activities (ie sunset cruise etc) without being in a crowded area. Everything was absolutely amazing right down to the giraffes and zebras right outside the door!

What a hidden gem. The lodge is out of Town but worth the extra 15 minutes of travel so that you get an excellent service, brilliant location and a great team of people at the lodge. Plus the views were amazing opportunities to see the animals

This is a beautiful location. The accommodations are wonderful and the wildlife viewing is amazing right from the property. The pool is also a nice feature. Staff is excellent! I felt safe as a solo female traveler. The rooms were kept very tidy each day. They provided fresh water, coffee, and tea in the room. The meals were delicious onsite- especially the crème brûlée (with passion fruit!)

Ursula's Homestead was one of the best places we have stayed in. It is situated within the national park and we saw zebras, Impala and giraffes throughout the day. It was so praveiand Milly and her team were so friendly and welcoming. The shuttle was great into the falls and back. The meals were really great also We stayed in Unit 1 which was showing it's age a tad bit was comfortable with everything we needed and was very spacious with a separate shower and bath. Highly recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at Ursulas Homestead. Prior arrangements of airport pickup went very smoothly, and on arrival met by Milly and her team. Ursulas is in the grounds of the Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel, we didnt visit, but heard good reviews, although I belive the menu was the same at Ursulas. The views are outstanding over a waterhole, as we arrived zebra were right in front of us, and the baboons wansering through. The room was lovely, super comfy bed, and big bathroom. we ate there the first night, and breakfast everyday was delicious. The location was a huge selling point for us, we didnt want to be in Victoria Falls area, with noisy helicoptors overhead all the time! We could do a game drive from our back door !!, which was just amazing. Our driver 'Africa' went above and beyond to find animals for us, and we saw Rhino, giraffe, Elephant & after a puncture in the dark ! (yes, never happened before), we saw a lioness and 2 cubs, just amazing. Sundowners & dinner too all made for a wonderful evening. Thank you to Milly & the team, we had an amzing trip. :)

We just returned from our trip to Zimbabwe and our stay at Ursala's Homestead was a definite highlight! Our family of 8 stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved the intimate setting. It was like we had our own private resort. Milly and the staff were fantastic and our game driver, Sikhulu, went above and beyond to find elephants and lions! The rooms were very comfortable and the air conditioning was a real bonus! We would recommend this property to anyone!
