グランド アクアリウム(Grand Aquarium)

We spent 10 days at the grand aquarium and enjoyed every second. Id read other reviews of people feeling like family and feeling welcomed etc, I'm not a people person so I didn't think too much of being involved. How wrong I was, it's like the comfort and reassurance that you're welcome and wanted, just consmes you. The staff here are beyond amazing. So helpful, respectful, accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Saliye, the host makes sure she greets everyone personally each day, makes sure everyone is happy and will stop for a chat if you want to. Just lovely. We were looked after mostly by Mehmet, such a lovely caring genuine man. All of the other staff were equally as pleasant and helpful, but Mehmet went above and beyond. The hotel itself is a little out of the main town, a brisk walk or short taxi ride. Taxis are usually at the front of the hotel or 2 minutes away if called. You can also get a dolmus, small bus, from the main road. I loved Icmeler. Quiet and sleepy compared to Marmaris. But as expected there is a larger variety of things in the city. I also have to give a special mention to Yasin, @master_of_hairr the on site hair dresser. He worked absolute magic with my hair (after illness) and made me feel like a mermaid I also had my nails done and a turkish bath on site, all just as amazing with the same high level of care and attention. After the pampering, we had a lovely holiday photoshoot with Mesut, the on site photographer. Not only did we look fabulous, we now have photos to prove it Thank you all for a lovely, family holiday xx

I couldn’t have met friendlier people .The hotel was immaculate. And the staff very friendly The food in the restaurant was amazing and if you wanted could eat in your room and the would deliver it . Booked this on a bit of a whim, not really taking package holidays or having been to Turkey before. We had the most fantastic time. Our 2 teenagers enjoyed the foam party which was well organised - with one of the staff in a life jacket brushing the foam away from the pool edge - and appreciated the laughs with the entertainment team Cedric and Eddie. Saliye the manager was outstanding: committing names to memory after just one day and checking in with guests each day whilst they were around the pool/walking about the hotel. My daughter had her hair cut by the on-site 'master of hair' who did an excellent job and although we didn't buy anything from him, the young guy in the jewellery shop - whose name escapes me - was absolutely lovely and really interesting to talk to about life in Turkey. Our apartment had a whirlpool bath on the huge balcony and the mosquito nets built into the doors just in case any flying critters decided to try and get in were a great touch. The decor was modern and stylish and we all found the beds/sofa beds really comfortable (they were quite firm so maybe that's why others have found them a bit uncomfortable?). The mini kitchen was enough to prepare light meals or snacks. We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times and the food was good - freshly squeezed orange juice by the pool = delicious! Slightly elevated prices but not unexpected within a hotel. £16 a head for the 'Turkish night'/bbq/foam party seemed ok to me. You charge a card up at Reception to pay for drinks/food which made things easier. WiFi was ok - didn't really reach the bedroom at the rear of the hotel reliably but I had rented a hotspot as my son needed guaranteed WiFi for his revision, so not a a problem for us. I would imagine that in Summer you'd need air con which I think might be payable (or maybe you get one room free and pay for the second- worth checking if this matters to you). All in all, we would absolutely, 100% recommend this hotel. We loved everything about it. They are like a family and I had read reviews saying guests feel like part of the family- I can understand why; so amazingly friendly from check in through to check out. Most impressive. Saliye was very keen to hear about any improvements to be made and we struggled to find anything major (or minor for that matter) for the price point. Incredible value for money! Shout out to the housekeeping staff too who were also super friendly: Cemille who cleaned our apartment was a star and very patient in the face of me trying to use my (very poor) Turkish with her! Ironically, Içmeler isn't really my thing but the Grand Aquarium gets a big thumbs up.

I originally booked to stay at a sister hotel that wasn't very nice and popped here to use the pool for the afternoon. So glad I did as when I arrived and spoke with the front desk they went out of their way to get me transferred over within half an hour at a very reasonable extra £10 a night. The hotel is lovely with a nice heated pool, amazing welcoming team and the rooms are possibly the best I've stayed in whilst in Turkey. The only downside to the place was the price of food and drink. It is very expensive but then again all of Marmaris and Icmelar are extremely expensive in comparison to last year. I just have a thing about paying more for a beer in the hotel than I pay at my local back in England. Next time I come to Turkey I will certainly be going all inclusive to counter the price increases everywhere

This hotel really is wonderful and worthy of the fantastic reviews. As a single parent family, myself and my daughter 8 were made welcome from the minute we arrived. We stayed in the newly refurbished block 1, faultless rooms and facilities. The swimming pool, spa where we both had a luxury Turkish bath experience, the entertainment team, kids club and restaurant meals and staff made our stay very special. Yes we paid a bit more to eat and drink in the hotel but meals were of a good quality. However we stocked up at a local grocers with fresh veg, salad, eggs, cheese, bread, herbs and fruit for just £7.50 which did us for lunch for the week with the addition of tins of tuna, noodles and groceries for another £12.00 made it more affordable. Ichmelar was quiet at this time of year but could see that it would be livelier during the season. Thanks to all the team for a memorable stay

Very nice rooms and pool. Great entertainment and the hairdressers are brilliant, had my hair done twice and was great each time! The restaurant and food are amazing and staff are very friendly. Would definitely recommend for familys as there is great entertainment and a kids club.

Saliye made us feel welcome from the second we met her, remembering everyone's names and generally being a fabulous host. Everyone who works there makes the place fantastic. Cedric and Eddie are crazy boys with unlimited energy! The entertainment team are fab, as are the bar team, reception team and the cleaning team. Having never been to Turkey before, we had been told that the people are so friendly and the ethos of Grand Aquarium proves this. Thanks for a great time! It was our first time SC as we usually go AI so had a budget to consider. Prices probably same as at home, but I'd rather pay £4 a pint laid on a lounger in the sun so this wasn't an issue for us. The food prices were probably the same as nearby restaurants. We were in an annex room and I would say the bed in the bedroom was too firm, but this is personal preference. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and beds made. It was nice to have the option of 2 different pools. The annex pool is quiet, chilled and just a tad chilly 🥶 (which was actually quite welcome in the 30° heat). The main pool has music, entertainment and is heated (not too hot). Bar service at both pools. The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from the beach. Taxis were always in the car park and if not, reception would call you one. There is a small shop on site which was open when we arrived at 1am. There is a spa, hairdressers and a jewellery shop on site. The entertainment team did a few games throughout the day for kids and adults. Our kids are older teenagers so we didn't experience the kids club but there is one. Nightly entertainment (lots of variety). We paid for the Saturday night BBQ and foam party, that was good fun. We stopped very early in the season and most nearby bars and restaurants weren't open, but we still found enough places to visit. Our only regret is not booking 2 full weeks instead of 10 days! The weather was gorgeous and hit 30° most days. We had rain for 2 hours one morning but the sun came back out for us. Definitely didn't need the coats we packed!

Fantastic time. 2023 we stayed at mirage world and after a bad experience in that awful hotel we were a bit unsure on even booking turkey again. We got a good deal though on jet2 and it didn't disappoint. Hotel was clean and staff were brilliant. Everyone was so friendly, Sally, Sedric, Eddie and Ali were just a few who couldn't do enough for you. The kids had a great time. We were half way into the holiday and already talking about booking later this year for October it was that good. It's about a 20 min walk to icmeler town/beach or 150 lira/£4 via taxi. Kids loved the slides and the pool was super clean. You didn't have to fight for sunbeds either. The room cleaners were absolutely fantastic too. There only downside and I mean only downside was I did think the food side of things were quite pricey. So much so we didn't eat much around the hotel and chose to have most meals outside locally. £16 for a small plate of chips and 3 small soft drinks is a bit much. I think of you lowered the food prices slightly we would have eaten more around the hotel and pool. But in saying that we ate at Tommy's bar just across the road and came back after lunch for more pool fun.

A big thank you to Sally and her team Just returned from a weeks holiday with my Son, Daughter in Law and Granddaughters aged 3 and 2 The apartment was lovely, spacious enough for 5 of us. Beds were comfortable kitchen had more than enough utensils and equipment. Bathroom was lovely. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. We had an issue with the screen door reported it, was fixed 30 minutes later. The pools being heated was fabulous the girls had a lovely time in the children’s pool every day The slide was fun even I had a go The Restaurant and staff were excellent and looked after us. Food was delicious. The entertainment team were friendly and made us all feel special my 3 year old granddaughter loved the mini disco they included and encouraged her with the dances. Last but not least our cleaner Camille thank you for looking after us Overall a fabulous week making special memories with my family
