We had our own private driver, but taxis are available at hotel for short trips. We mostly ate breakfast since we gone most of the day, but their inasal chicken was to die for. This was our fourth visit. Will come again. We had fresh coconuts prepared daily with delicious jelly to feast on.
“Silent Hill” If you’re not familiar with this movie title, it was a horror film released in 2006. Our experience with Damires Hills was not as horrifying but more of a dreaded experience. Indeed, when we arrived at this nature retreat, we were welcomed by a silent breeze and the sound of distant chimes, gentle rustling of the tree leaves and occasional creaking sound of bamboo…which seemed relaxing and peaceful. Much like how horror films start. The horror started after checking in. We had some time to freshen up before a scheduled meeting, so we proceeded to our rooms. Upon entering you will be welcome by the musty stench of the room and when you open the tap and shower the odor of the water was a warning to not take this by mouth. They did provide two small bottles of bottled water, which was not enough after a long trip. Fortunately, the smell of the tap water improved after running the tap and shower for a few minutes. I also noticed the wooden soap holder which was full of molds while trying to freshen up. Then much to my surprise there were no available towels in the room. I had to request for this, which arrived 30 minutes after, that is after reminding them twice that no towels were provided. When the towels arrived, these were moist and had a certain odor like when laundry is not properly done. Upon unraveling the towel, it was tattered and full of stains that suggests this has not been laundered well or at least replaced if the stains were not removed after proper laundering. Good thing a brought an Arena quick dry sports towel for emergency use. Hurriedly, after a quick freshening up I proceeded to the meeting venue. We didn’t have time to check the beds and the cabinets to see what was lurking within. We had a decent lunch spread and mirienda during our meeting breaks. Nothing great. I was expecting Iloilo cuisine at its finest or at least dishes to remember since there was so much hype about Damires Hills. The forested areas were nice, but we noticed the pools were poorly maintained with unclear pool water and floating leaves. At night fall the pathways to our rooms and to another venue for dinner were poorly lighted and quite spooky. We had dinner near one of the pools which again was poorly lit and the dinner buffet was mediocre at best. One of my companions even commented that the dinner spread had no theme at all, just a mixture of dishes that didn’t please the palate. After the dinner, we had some short activities and fellowship. Our friends from Iloilo were so kind to bring some good pulutan for this. Together with the cold SMB this was a respite from previous disappointments with Damires HIlls. Apparently, the pool bar didn’t have any simple complimentary pika-pika like peanuts and the like. After a few hours, some of us decided to call it a night after a long day of travel and work meetings. Going back to the room, the musty smell had decreased after airing the room for about an hour. This is the time I noticed the cabinets

ゲゲストI booked 3 rooms, 1 suite and 2 deluxe rooms, for 3 days and 2 nights for our wedding. The first night my fiancé had a problem with their bathtub. While he was using it the water leaked from the tub and it was flooding the floor of the bathroom. I called 3 times for room service but no one came to clean it up. I also asked for plates because we wanted to eat in our room but again no one came up to bring the plates I asked. The highlight of the catastrophic stay with them was when we checked out after our wedding. We were packing all our stuffs to bring home when 1 of the staffs gave us flowers that was put together with our stuffs from the wedding thinking it was ours as well. After an hour they called saying those flowers were not for us and it was from another wedding, asking us to bring it back because they needed it. We brought it back and spent our own money for the taxi, and they kept calling us asking if it’s already on the way when in the first place it was there fault for giving us the flowers. Flowers were delivered and they didn’t even paid for the taxi when it was delivered. We were the ones who paid for it. I am so disappointed with what happened for the whole 3 days of staying there.
RRob BAlthough the hotel LOOKS nice and is well designed, it is so poorly operated and managed it really ruined our stay. It all started at checkin when on my booking I had requested two adjoining or adjacent rooms as we have 4 small kids and total 7 in our party. I was given two rooms on two different floors. It wasn't until I complained loudly and explained my written request that they finally accommodated us. They only gave us one key for each room and since the room requires a card key for power and air con I asked for an additional key to which they wanted more money. It went down hill badly from there. When we got to the room the kids quickly realized that both rooms doors never locked and anyone could just walk in our rooms without a key. (This was recurring throughout the stay) Next was that the room air con remotes didn't work because the batteries were dead. Next were the non working TV's. And then the broken safe. Then the non working refrigerators. After that was the non-existent hot water. That one really pissed me off as the staff decided that I was an ***** that didn't know how to operate a faucet and they were going to teach me how to turn it on after I had waited over 10 + minites for hot water in the shower, bathtub and sink. How insulting and belittling to me to think that I don't know how to turn on hot water. Ultimately the hot water that evening was at only 37c. The errors continued throughout the evening until bed with the room, towels, internet, etc. During that evening I asked to speak to a manager about my issues as they were far too numerous but I was told there wasn't one available until Friday. So I told them I wanted an appointment on Friday. Our next morning we went to the restaurant for our included breakfast. Although there were 9 workers from my count and only 4 guests we got zero service at all. Not to mention the food was all cold. Their selection was purely Philippino and very few options either. My kids had toast for breakfast. We then went swimming in their pool. It's a nice view there on top but unfortunately there were no towels for us and the bathrooms were disgusting with no way for us to wipe or clean ourselves. Can't imagine how many get back in the pool like that. Surprisingly, they did have hot water there. When we returned to the room, none of our room keys worked for either room. We got news keys again. Then as we were getting ready to leave I realized that one of the keys they gave me could actually open ANY ROOM IN THE HOTEL. I asked one of the front desk people to accompany me while I showed them and they KNEW they had given me a master key and were ok with it. What ??? Later that morning we left for the day and returned at 430pm. I anticipated meeting the manager upon my return but unfortunately they arrived at 2 and left at 4 and they decided since I left the hotel I didn't need the manager anymore. Upon returning to the room we found out that the room doors were unlocked
