オーベルジュ デ ラック イミルシル(Auberge des Lacs Imilchil)

We had unforgettable stay Auberge des Lacs in Imilchil. The host was very welcoming and hospitable. Even though we arrived late at night he offered to cook dinner for us. The auberge was very clean and quiet. Every morning we enjoyed Moroccan breakfast outside looking at the mountain. There we met Driss who offered to show us the surrounding mountains and small villages. We had tea and food with local mountain people. Next day together with Driss , we were on our way to the Sahara desert, going through the high Atlas Mountains which was an amazing experience. Once we reached the Sahara, Driss arranged for us to travel on camels and spend the night at the nomadic dwelling, drank camel milk and played drums with a local band. The experience was really beyond our imagination. Driss really is an incredible guide filled with knowledge about Morocco and so much kindness for the world. We will never forget our trip to Morocco and will return again and again.

Stopped here on the Monkey Run, finding no signal in Imichil and this being right off the main square. A very fortunate staying too, I was offered tea before the price was even told to me. Khalid (who I believe is the owner) speaks no English, French or Arabic, only Berber, but he had an interpreter who I dealt through when walking through the front door. He said 200Dh at first, but was happy to accept 150Dh per person. For this, it was probably the best deal I got on the trip, and hospitality to beat a great deal of other locations. The garage was opened to allow five of us to park our bikes inside, securely locked. The water in the taps was very hot, but not exactly at the best pressure so it chokes and splurts now and again. But after a cold trip in the Atlas, it was perfect. The bedrooms are decently sized with plenty of thick blankets to ward off the cold. It can get noisy at times during the night with dogs barking and the Muezzin close by in the morning, but I feel like it's not a complete deal breaker. We had two vegetarians in our group, and while at first Khalid asked us whether we wanted 'Bok bok' (Chicken) or 'Maaaa' (Lamb), and we desperately tried to work out what noise a vegetable makes, he made us some of the best Tagine on the trip, enormous and thick with root vegetables that I could barely finish it was so filling. It was a late dinner so that Khalid could cook with the family, but we were alright with that. In the morning we had omlette and pancakes, and while at first I mistook the olive oil for lemon juice, when he understood what I was after he squeezed a lemon for me and I was able to have sugar on my pancakes, what a treat so far from the UK! The Wifi was actually really good, it suffered a bit with five people trying to upload pictures, but I never felt short changed by the lack of data in Imichil. Honestly I can't recommend this enough to people passing by, or fellow Monkey Runners. It was comfortable, clean, convenient, and there were places to play cards and books to read, so you won't lack for entertainment. I would happily have stayed multiple nights if I was going to be staying around Imichil.

Auberge très recommandable. C’est un lieu authentique et simple, mais propre. Le gérant, Khalid, est très aimable et sa cuisine locale est très bonne. L’auberge se trouve en plein centre et dispose de places de parking juste devant l’entrée. 👍

super endroit authentique, bien reçu, propre, simple comme le village mais avec charme. La nourriture très bonne et copieuse, le petit déjeuner très bon. Je reviendrai sûrement. Dans le magasin des alentours il y'a tout ce qu'il faut

Schöne Zimmer, sehr gutes marrokanisches Essen und super nette Gastgeber. Auberge liegt zentral und vermittelt auch Wanderführer und berät bei Ausflügen, Weiterreise etc. Wir können empfehlen hier zu übernachten. Schon ist zB die Wanderung zu den Seen.

très bel accueil et couscous divin! malgré le froid vif, le confort de la chambre était plaisant et les grosses couvertures marocaines ont permis un sommeil réparateur. L’accueil était très chaleureux et bienveillant. Belle balade près des 2 lacs au coucher du soleil avec les sommets enneigés. Au petit matin, souk ds le village, très authentique lui aussi.

Nous avons passé une bonne nuit à Imilchil. L'hôte est très accueillant, bienveillant et se plie en quatre pour nous faire plaisir. Un accueuil très touchant. La chambre est jolie, confortable et l'hôte dispose d'un petit chauffage d'appoint si besoin. Une très bonne adresse.
