ベイト アル バラカ(Beit Al Baraka)

We stayed at the Beit Al Baraka for one night in May 2024 when visiting the Ancient Roman ruins of Gadara at Umm Qais. The accommodation is very clean, and the guests have full use of a kitchen and living room. None of the rooms on the first floor have en-suite facilities. The staff were extremely helpful, and the breakfast is very very good.

We really enjoyed our stay in the very cozy and welcoming guesthouse. Breakfast and dinner were very good and huge, rooms were comfortable, very nice view from the rooftop (we didn't stay long as it was cold). The garden at the groundfloor and the common room upstairs are perfect for relaxing and for kids to play (quiet games). The place is clean, and the ladies working there very kind. bathroom are shared , so just be prepared for it.

Beit Al Baraka is located in a small scruffy village overlooking beautiful, green, rolling countryside. The views across to the Golan Heights, Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories are breathtaking taking. The staff are so kind and attentive, Walid in particular, was exceptional. During our stay we visited the ancient ruins of Gedara with our excellent guide Ahmed, enjoyed a delicious lunch cooked by Na’ela and her sister in her local home, plus we did a cycle ride around the stunning countryside and a cookery class. All are highly recommended. The accommodation is simple but clean. We stayed in the garden room and picked our own kumquats for an afternoon snack. The breakfast was large, beautifully presented and featured many local products. This is a perfect peaceful and interesting place to stay for a few days.

I stayed at Beit Al Baraka on two occasions and enjoyed my stay very much both times. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and ready to help with anything they could. The lower terrace and rooftop terrace are fabulous places to wind down at the end of the day with a cup of mint tea. And the views from the roof are quite spectacular looking over an area where Jordan, Palestine/Israel, Lebanon and Syria intersect. As a base for exploring the ancient Roman ruins, going on some trail walks, Beit Al Baraka cannot be beaten! As for the breakfast... it has to be the BEST breakfast of anywhere in Jordan, with organic and locally sourced foods presented in the most delicious way!

If you are looking for a calm and relaxing place, this is it. The location is great – away from the city noise, surrounded by nature. The people there are super friendly. I had a good time and would definitely go back.

A beautiful authentic place with an eye to the details that make you feel you are in someone's home. We loved and enjoyed every minute - the home-cooked breakfast made from local produce, the mint tea on the roof top at night. Everyone was super helpful and took very good care of us.

A beautiful thoughtful made to bring tranquility, connecting to the history, and opportunities for hiking into your experience. The space itself is uniquely designed, so you could just stay in it to enjoy some silence and beautiful views of the area around it, the eastern Jordan valley, or you could visit the ruins from the Neolithic era next to, or take it further to start one the most beautiful hikes to Beit Edis. The breakfast is unforgettable!

I would like to say thank you to the whole team for an amazing and unforgettable stay. The house is absolutely unique andxall the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is authentic typical hordanian food and absolutely delicious . I had booked the cooking class in a private home , the basket weaving , the guided tour in Um Quais and a light hike. All was perfectly organized and I enjoyed myself a lot. If you look for a unique experience you should put this on top of your to do list. I would like to wish all the best to all the staff and hope to be back again Please stay safe

Umm Qais by itself and the Gadara ruins are breathtaking, and Beit Al Baraka, a lovely and intimate guesthouse with many local projects and initiatives, was part of this unique experience, a highlight of my Jordan trip. I only stayed for one night, unfortunately, I would love to stay longer another time, and after a few days in Amman and a day in Jerash I felt immediately immersed in the special a**osphere of Umm Qais, with views of the Jordan Valley, Syria and, unfortunately only on clear days, the Sea of Galilee, the ruins at sunset, kids playing football in the street with oranges. Beit Al Baraka has very cosy rooms, a beautiful common area and garden, and the breakfast was a sheer delight. I was the only guest that day, with a very warm welcome, the whole team was very kind and accommodating. The price is definitely above average but well invested in a great local initiative. I bought some local honey, to take something with me in addition to fond memories.
