メルビル タレット ゲストハウス(Melville Turret Guesthouse)

I stayed at the Melville Turret for 9 days, alone, split between work and vacation. Everything went very well, and I highly recommend this Guesthouse with its welcoming, friendly, warm and smiling staff, always available to meet any need. I had initially booked a room for only 5 days, I had no problem extending this stay directly on site. The rooms are clean and well appointed, as are the collective areas. Very pretty interior courtyard. Breakfast is generously prepared by Prisca, incredibly kind and with whom it is very easy to exchange and share (I miss your smile :) ). The street and the neighborhood are calm and safe, we are close (10 min walk) to activities / bars / restaurants on 7th. I could not have asked for better for a first experience in Johannesburg. The guest house was clean, quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I would suggest is purchasing a back up generator for the times when the power cuts occur. But, I enjoyed their court yard, their breakfasts and the accessibility to shops and the hospital.

I loved and enjoyed my stay, the place looked quite clean, aesthetic and breathtaking. I would surely recommend. They have the best service and staff, I loved mam'prisca's service and patience. The breakfast was also good. Keep it up

We had stayed previously at one of the ground floor units. On this particular trip we stayed in the Loft suite. We found it to be spacious and bright, with a large king size bed and separate sitting area. The bathroom is lovely and has both a shower and a separate bathtub. The only slight drawback is that in terms of self catering it would be hard to do much more than a simple breakfast or light meal. The sink is more of a small bar style sink, with cold water. Other than that the unit was perfect! Prisca, the manager, was very friendly and helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at Melville Guesthouse. The guesthouse is well located in a safe area within walking distance from restaurants and shops. Prisca, the hotel manager, is wonderful and makes you feel welcome and at home. would definitely recommended the place to anyone looking for a good quality/price accommodation.

We had a very nice stay at the Melville Turret. What makes this guesthouse special, apart from the historic building, charming rooms, off-street parking and hearty breakfasts, is the incredibly warm welcome and care of the manager, Ms. Prisca. Thank you so much for making this a home away from home! The only small hiccup was on the last night of our stay, when a guest, who was apparently a friend of the owners, came back very late and made quite some noise. However, he apologised the next morning.

Small quiet hotel in Melville. Nearby are shops, restaurants and a pharmacy. The rooms are excellent. The patio is very cozy. The staff are very friendly and willing to help. Lulu the cat is just beautiful.

Good value for money but roommate was an insane Asian senior citizen who demanded presidential trea**ent at my cost disregarding the type of facility she was in, A BACKPACKER, A share facility which requires one to work well with others,... I love Melville House but my stay there hell on earth because of her. And I feel the staff did not fairly resolve the conflict. Never corrected her or taught her how to share space

We notified them of our late arrival and received an acknowledgement. But when we arrived at 9:30 pm we were locked out. No response to the gate buzzer, phone call, text, or email. We were simply stranded outside on the corner. Had to find other accommodations. Called the next day and were told that they close the desk at 8:00 pm, sorry. Terrible, simply terrible way to run a guest house.
