The Hotel Baranoff in Juneau, Alaska, left much to be desired, especially considering its high price point. While the location may be convenient, the overall experience was disappointing due to numerous maintenance issues and lackluster amenities. Pros: - Convenient location in Juneau Cons: - Extremely overpriced for the quality offered - Numerous maintenance issues throughout the room - Outdated and worn-out facilities - Unhelpful staff Our stay was marred by a series of issues that shouldn't be present in any hotel, let alone one charging premium rates. The room's door handle was broken, requiring excessive force to open. Basic amenities like the shower, toilet, and fitted sheet were all problematic. The shower head and tub diverter leaked, the toilet ran constantly, and the bottom sheet didn't fit the mattress properly. The room's furnishings and technology were equally disappointing. The TV was comically small for the room size, and the desk lamp provided inadequate light for work. We also encountered issues with the in-shower toiletry dispensers and a malfunctioning nightstand. Customer service was lacking, with the hotel offering only a meager 30-minute extension for late checkout. This inflexibility, combined with the room's various issues, made for an uncomfortable and overpriced stay. Overall, the Hotel Baranoff is in dire need of renovations and improved maintenance. Until significant improvements are made, it's hard to justify the high rates for such a subpar experience. Travelers to Juneau would be wise to explore other options or adjust their expectations accordingly if choosing to stay here.
