It is conveniently located in a quiet place though still very close to the lakeside. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and I really enjoyed my meals there

Super friendly and helpfull. Clean rooms with a**osphere. Good food and close to the city centre. Good value for money. Thank you for your nice curry you made for us. Your curry is the best in Sri Lanka even your deserts. Next time we will meet you again!

Shinani and the team at Villa 49 are incredibly hospitable. There’s spacious rooms (ask for room with roof top terrace!), food made fresh to order and exactly to your liking, even dietary requirements. Great location to explore Kandy too. Highly recommended!

Great environment, cozy and familiar. Away from the noise and confusion in the center of Candy but really close to go on foot. Great location Home made delicious food and really nice and friendly staff. Great balcony with great views to the area of Kandy.

This is a great little place just outside of Kandy. Wonderful staff and extremely accommodating to what time you want breakfast/dinner and they cook them all fresh just for you. Rooms are cool and spacious - ask for the roof top terrace room!

This is a beautiful home, tastefully decorated. We stayed two nights and the room was large with beautiful furniture and easy to hang and store items. Upi was wonderfully attentive and fun to talk to! The food is amazing. Have both breakfast and dinner. I always laugh how people say best breakfast but it really was. Fruit, tea coffee and egg hoppers that far exceed anything we have had. Tonight we had a Sri lankan curry dinner. Made fresh with great skill was absolutely wonderful. 10/10

Outstanding stay @ Villa 49, this by far was the most attentive to customer care I've experienced, in the last 4 months of travel, or ever. What an absolute pleasure it was staying there. It was like home from home. Guys don't miss this little gem.

Villa 49 was a great find. We had a lovely room which was comfortable and clean. The views from the terrace were fabulous too. Shinani and her team were extremely friendly and helpful. We ate delicious food, all prepared for us especially and to our taste.

Quite location out of town but an easy walk in via the lake footpath. The rooms are well equiped with traditional furnishings, tea & coffee plus fridge. The owner and her staff were most attentive and offered us good advice on what to see and where to go in Kandy. Breakfast was a real treat with fruit, hoppers and eggs/omelet. Best tea and coffee so far also. Nice garden area and roof top sun terrace that offers great views over Kandy.
