ロイヤル キャンディアン(The Royal Kandyan)

We had the greatest coffee at this Hotel and tastiest lemon I ever had in Srilanka ,All the credit goes to Mr Navarathna Bandara and Mr Hashan Wijesinghe who introduced this nice place to us.We highly recommend this hotel to all local and foriegn guests who visit Kandy .

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff were very courteous. The only thing that disappointed me was that we had booked 2 nights half board. On the second night we were expecting a buffet style dinner, however it had been changed to a very limited a la carte style menu. They had done it due to a lack of customers but they could have informed us at breakfast. The restaurant manager did however do his very best to give us some better choices of food but still a disappoin**ent. Overall I would be happy to return in the future.

Good staff and service. Overall a relaxed 2 days. Spacious rooms and accommodated 3 adults and a kid. Location is prime and can walk around as well if you want to explore the surroundings. We were a large family group and had no issues and they also have a shop attached with decent pricing.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the hotel and except for the room, nothing was good about the property. The service was too slow, both for housekeeping and dining. The food was bad - always cold, even at the starting times and with hardly any variety. There were insects and mosquitoes loitering on the food items (had shown it to the manager too), the chefs at the live counter did not even have a cheese omelette. I am not sure how it has been categorised as a 4-star property.

Overall the hotel is good. One major drawback was the dj during dinner. Simply way to loud. The music choice was ok (always debatable). Note that he plays only some days, not all days. You might be able to avoid him. Also the speaker system in restaurant and halways sounds bad. Should be switched off and repaired or replaced. Apart from this, our stay was good!

Best place have ever been in the kandy to spend the leisure, food varieties should be improve and room service is the best ac facilities and room facilities acceptable.highly recommend that place for the visitors

The room smelt musty, as if it had not been opened for months. Wall - to- wall carpet in a hot country will be dusty, if not cleaned daily. The bathroom always smelt of methane and sulphur; I don't know why. It was a difficult stay. The food was average.

Staff were friendly and Helpful although the food and drinks were not up to its standards and our expectations. Certainly not worth the price you pay for the food. We ordered a whiskey based cocktail but we were served with just a lime juice without any alcohol in it. The staff compensated us with a late checkout to make upto us and we were satisfied. The room was pretty nice and spacious. Reasonable prices. Overall experience and the service was good but we really didn’t enjoy the food and the drinks.
