Hotel Oceanis

Didn't stay , but wish we had . Had a senior moment , plus dodgy directions from a local .. leading us to the frontage of this establishment . We were heading for the popular Taverna , which lies below the Oceanis .. further down the hill . On entering Reception , we were met by a Gentleman wearing glasses & sporting a tash ( like myself ) . Explaning my predicament in taking the wrong road , & informing him of our intended destination .. said Gent led us down some steps through his hotels grounds .. past their pool & towards the Tavern below . If this was Alexander , then Efcharisto mate .. your kind gesture & helpfulness was MUCH appreciated . Hopefully , although we weren't guests .. your kind act will be noted through this media .. as it was the Ieast i could do . If we can ever tear ourselves away from Katelios , then it's easy to know where we'll be staying next .. judging by previous guests comments too .

This hotel is definitely more than a 2 star run by a lovely family and alexander is brilliant with all the guests. Rooms are really clean and breakfast is fantastic with great selection to start the day and the views are fantastic Would suggest hiring a car which the hotel can provide just email them before you go Could not fault anything about this hotel brilliant holiday had by all and every hotel guest seem to be really enjoying their stay Antisamos beach around 45 mins drive was a fantastic place to swim, eat and drink Thanks alexander and family for making our stay one to remember

Lovely hotel with fantastic views. The hotel is run by a very friendly family. Alex is lovely he couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable. Fridge included and safe. We hired a car from hotel. Alex will take you to the village and pick you up if required. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice. The hotel is definitely more than a 2 star.

Dont be fooled by the 2 Star rating for the hotel! This is the second visit we have made to this hotel in 6 months. The rooms are super clean and are clearly to a very high standard every day, Alix and his family are amazing, very knowledgeable about places to visit, you could rent a car via the hotel or Alix would run you down into the harbour or the town. The breakfast that is served each morning is amazing, a great selection of breads, cold meats, cheeses, jams (all homemade), fruits, cereals, little pastries and if you ask omelettes and fried eggs are cooked to order. There is a bar by the pool and snacks are served until 4pm. The view is about the best you could ever wish for over the harbour and the sunsets over the hills are spectacular. We will be going back!

I am absolutely in love with this hotel! The location is simply breathtaking and the view is nothing short of amazing. It was exactly what I needed for a weekend break, and to be honest, the pictures really don't do it justice. Alex and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during my stay, making me feel right at home. The breakfast was also fantastic, with a great variety of fresh options. And to top it all off, there's even a complimentary shuttle bus that takes you to the beach. I highly recommend this hotel

Probably the best 2 star rated hotel we’ve ever stayed in! Fantastic buffet breakfast with lots of healthy options. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble and all requests answered. They even provided a free minibus shuttle service.

What a lovely holiday I had at the Oceanis. The hotel is situated on a mountain and it has the most spectacular views! I felt incredibly relaxed from the start. My room had breathtaking views! Alexander and his family are hard working, kind people. Set on a hill, the walk up to it is not for the faint hearted, but I did it twice! The nature and aromas from the trees and foliage were worth the walk. Alexander provided a free shuttle to and from the harbour and restaurants ect and this was greatly received after a big meal and few cocktails! The room was spotless and bed made, towels changed daily. I made good use of the mini bar (reasonably priced if you didn’t fancy a walk down to the shop) I loved being poolside and watching the ferries come in. I’m going to miss my daily Mythos at the bar served by the lovely Aurora. Breakfast was great. Cheese, cereals, coffee, fruit all eaten whilst watching the amazing views. Peter took me to and from the hotel for a good rate and he was very nice. This hotel was perfect for me, almost out of season so quiet and laid back. I can’t wait to return.

Lovely hosts, lovely hotel and rooms, comfy bed and soft pillows, good breakfast, good choice of food, we have been many times in the last 8 or 9 years, Peter, Maria, Alex, the rest of their family and staff, work hard to make your holiday enjoyable, absolutely love it there every time we go,

We arrived at Oceanis Hotel late morning, and on parking our hire car, were greeted with glimpses of blue sea between the trees and beautiful Bougainvillea. We were shown to our room by Alexander, who was friendly and explained everything well, and when we were shown our balcony, that glimpse of blue sea turned into a wonderful view of Poros Harbour and Town, surrounded by green mountains, and blue sea.....we felt immediately relaxed. We had hired a car from Kefalonia Airport prior to the holiday, as we wanted to have the flexibility of getting ourselves to and from the airport, and around the island for the 12 days we were there, without having to rely on anyone else, however, we were aware of the service offered by the Hotel, which took guests to and from Poros Centre when required, and also the car hire that was offered by the Hotel. The reason the view is so beautiful, is because of where the Hotel is situated, on the side of a mountain, meaning that there is a very steep hill or numerous steps to climb to access the town and nearby beaches, however, unless you are unable to walk far, in which case this wouldn't be the Hotel for you, then don't let the steepness put you off, as due to the service provided by the Hotel, getting up and down is made easy by the service they provide. The Hotel itself is worthy of more than the 2 stars it is listed as......the rooms are very clean, with towels changed daily. The shower offered lots of hot water, and the air conditioning was extremely effective. Our room had a small balcony, with an amazing view of the town below, a table and 2 chairs are provided, and offer a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. I have seen comments about the furniture being old, and yes.....it is a bit dated, but that has no bearing on the service provided, as a wardrobe allows you to hang clothes in it, and a chair gives you somewhere to sit regardless of whether they are old or new. What is important is that you are made to feel welcome, and get to stay somewhere extremely beautiful. Due to the situation of the Hotel, it is on various levels and the pool area has a view over the harbour below. We didn't use the pool during our stay, but on the couple of occasions we went down to it, it looked clean and well looked after. Breakfast was served daily between 8am-10am, and offered a varied selection. There was plenty of bread to toast, with butter, jams and marmalade. Bread topped with feta and tomatoes. Cold meats, cheese and olives. Omelette cooked fresh on request. Greek yoghurt, honey and fresh fruit. A selection of cereal, juice, tea and coffee. There is certainly something for everyone, and plenty of it. Unfortunately, there are quite a few wasps around at Breakfast time, so it is better to eat inside where they don't bother you.......but this is the only time of day they cause an issue. They obviously appreciate a good Breakfast too. There is a large shelf in the Breakfast room where there are various books
