I happened to stay here as the Doubletree was sold out. First having not stayed in this type of property before wasn’t sure what to expect. What a nice surprise there was a kitchen in the suite plus a nice sofa. I found the room to have anything you might need for a extended stay. Plus had a desk and office chair. The biggest surprise was that the staff works in both hotels (Doubletree & Home2) as they are connected. I am so impressed with the staff, everyone I have had contact with has been fantastic. The location off the 401 (exit Sydenham Road to Princess St) is so quick & convenient. Lots of grocery stores to stop stock up the fridge within couple of minutes. Almost forgot to mention breakfast is served daily. I certainly will stay here again.
We stayed for 2 nights in King room 320 with a wide window view of the lake and harbour. Check-in/out was easy with efficient and friendly staff at all encounters. It was my birthday and a personalized card was awaiting in the room. The room was spacious, quiet, clean and smelled very fresh. We had lovely breakfasts in the restaurant both mornings. The service was great as was the waterfront view. Housekeeping made up the room for the second day. We paid the $30/day parking, which was easy and plentiful. The hotel location is so downtown that we never moved the car during our stay. This was low season so the hotel and the city were not busy, a great time to go.
5584ghbThe location was excellent for our purposes. The staff at the front desk were friendly. Our room was as expected, spacious with a mini fridge and microwave. It wasn’t as clean as I would expect, not terrible, but there were a few stains on the floor and some dust accumulated in the corners. The bathroom unfortunately did not have a magnifying mirror or a fan. Lightning was mediocre. Not a huge deal. The breakfast the first morning was very good, with a really nice selection. The breakfast staff, Wendy and Christine, were very helpful and attentive. At about 10:00 am we set out for the day, not returning until 8:30 pm. We entered our room to find that it had not been serviced ( we did not indicate that we did not not want this done). We called down to the front desk who were apologetic and they did send a nice young man around with fresh towels. The next morning we arrived for breakfast at 8:15 and it was mobbed and there was no seating. The selection was depleted so we took what was easy to carry, and returned to our room. We checked out shortly after.
I’m saddened to leave a poor review of this hotel, because my stay was mostly positive. Rooms were clean and modern, and although the building’s wood construction make it a bit noisy, it was all pretty pleasant. Unfortunately, while we were out, the staff member who cleaned our room stepped on my son’s ipad, likely as they made the bed. It was rendered destroyed and unusable. My wife calmly brought it to the attention of the person at the front desk who was very helpful and courteous. he asked for the information on the device and to see the damage, and assured that he would see that it gets fixed/replaced. He even sent a snack up for my son which was a very nice gesture. The staff member informed us that when the manager returned from vacation, this would all be resolved, and asked to exchange contact information. Upon returning home, my wife obtained a quote from apple to fix this device. It was then that she was greeted with an email from the hotel general manager stating that they were sorry, but have decided that they “do not feel they are responsible” for the damage, and that their housekeeper does not recall stepping on the device. They basically called us liars. I can’t express how disappointing it was to basically be told to F off.
11111We went last weekend to watch our granddaughter's ringette tournament, so the location was excellent for this purpose - nearby the arena, so we can go, watch a game, then return to rest, and go to the arena for the next game a few hours later. We received a warm, friendly and helpful welcome from Brittany Cormier, for which we are grateful as we felt amongst friends from the start. Thank you! The hotel is new, modern and clean with great coffee available in the lobby. Our room - 2 queen beds and a kitchenette - was spotlessly clean, spacious and the kitchenette had everything necessary to make a light meal (we did not stay long enough to take advantage of this option, but still we appreciated the convenience to be able to do so if needed). The beds were very comfortable, with soft and firm pillows for us to choose from. This will be especially helpful if you are travelling with children, and they will certainly enjoy the pool. Nearby there is a plaza with multiple restaurants to choose from, so we found this convenient, too. All in all, we enjoyed our stay there, apprciated the customer service and highly recommend the hotel.
ゲゲストGood service. Breakfast included except did not expect is take away kind of breakfast. Overall breakfast taste good and sufficient amount. Would prefer to allow earlier check in instead of having to wait till 3.00pm and check out is 11.00am which made the stay only for 20 hours instead of 24 hrs stay
Bed Mattresses are a little too high for us (personal preference)
Surrounding environment is excellent, quiet and clean
