スルタンサンズリゾートに滞在することは私たちが下した最良の決断でした。サービスは素晴らしかった。施設は清潔で、食べ物は誰にとってもバラエティに富んでいた。マネージャーのダスは私たちにとても気を配り、毎晩私たちのテーブルを予約してくれました。

The Resort is very very beautiful and we head great stay. In the Rooms everything was perfect. My wife and me really really loved the buffet and the staff. They were so friendly and helpfull and always had a smile in their face. Especially Rose and Sophia will always stay in our mind because of their kindness and profesionality. The Breakdance show in the evening was my personal highlight.

We travelled here from the UK in Feb 24 as a couple. The hotel is a lovely friendly place and the rooms are lovely and cold with excellent air con and very clean. The setting is beautiful with greenary and the beach, The staff are helpful and super kind. The wifi was very hit and miss but this isnt a major issue for us, we were on holiday :-) We did have an issue on the first night but after chasing management they did sort it and we were happy with that. Happy on the beach bar, is her names sake - happy, friendly and always remembers you she is amazing. Adam was a beach porter and very friendly chatty and very helpful. There was entertainment every night - a little repetative but non the less it was on - the guys worked very hard. The guests are mainly polish and had great fun There alot of beach traders - whilst they didnt bother me (we all need to make a living) just to be aware there are alot but very friendly. My MAIN issue sadly was the restaurant / food area. Its not an enclosed area so as the nights humidity sets in you can be sat dining in some serious serious heat. The second downfall with it being 'outside' dining is ALL the flies/wasps all over the uncovered food ( salads/ deserts / breads etc) The food was very much same same every night and super small portions you have to ask for more which can feel a little embarrasing ( well thats just me). My husband and I sadly had an upset stomach for 3 weeks. I feel this could be easily sorted if the dining area was inside - thus stopping all the flies and wasps and comffortable eating tempertaures. Just my opinion. Id give this hotel 4stars as its stunning if the restaurant was sorted its would definately be 5star plus.

We enjoyed our time in Sultan Sands Island Resort, were we spent 11 unbelievable days! This is wonderful hotel, with an amazing tropical resort , but rooms are neded repair. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Whenever we needed something (such as informations or any questions ) everyone was exceptional. Special thanks to Fatma, who was always very kind and able to manage every situation. She really wanted to do their outmost to make our vacation the best and make us so happy. The beach is one of the best in Zanzibar: long and large with the perfect white sand. The beach is especially beatiful at hight tide, but when the water goes away, the picture is completely different, with lots of seaweed. Variety of food and drinks even exceeded our expectation. Hotel entertainment really good! Every night there is DJ, or dancing crew, or a live band. We already miss our hotel so much! We'll come back,necessarily!!!!

Great location of the hotel nearly sitting on the beach is the biggest highlight! Room was clean and had everything you needed, no room service as advertised. With our all inclusive package we had accsess to free wii-fii,restaurant offering buffet style meals 3 times a day and 2 bars to use. In between meals there was a little snack table available with popcorn, cake, little bites to eat, coffee and tea… We found all this plus a helpful bunch of staff to assist us good enaugh to give a place 5 star, but we won’t. Twice we chose to order a’la carte and on both occassions we were overcharged!!!!!!!! The first time, I believe it could be just a genuine human error but I found the barman approch dealing with my enquiry very rude, it was sorted at the end. The second time we were paying at the reception during check out, given a price in dollars displayed on the calculator pointing in my face!!! It was $37 no bill or any form of paper receipt, so I question that. It took 15 min to get the bill for 2 club sandwiches, sprite and a glass of wine. The total was $28, when I asked why they wanted 37 before I have been told to chill and Hakuna Matata! So folks watch your spendings and the currency rate exchanged as the hotel has their own one and is different that the National Bank of Tanzania.

Sultan Sands provides a relaxing environment with friendly staff, a good pool, gym, spa and endless beach. Special Thanks to Mike at Sultan Sands management team, who made our stay complete with the best Bahari ocean view room! Changing buffet dinner by theme (African, Oriental, Mediterranean, Caribbean,...) and all type of breakfast together with a beach and a pool bar let us never be without food or drinks. Together with the connected Bluebay resort, which has a bit more international hotel flair, Sultan Sands is a good choice. Only the beach boys are a nuisance but that is probably the same all over the Zanzibar Beaches and sooner or later they accept a No as well. The shop seems to be overpriced and a visit in the local Kiwengwa mini mart or the Supermarket is adviced.

Long Review Ahead: I had an absolute amazing stay as a solo traveller at Sultan Sands. What stood out to me most, was the incredible staff at Sultan Sands. They were friendly and went out of their way to ensure my stay as a solo traveller was nothing short of spectacular. I celebrated my birthday during my stay at the resort and they were attentive during our casual chats and made me a special dinner and a birthday cake. Despite being alone on my birthday in a country, the staff at the resort made me feel special and made it a memorable enjoyable evening. Now let’s get down to the details: I stayed at the Bihari room which was perfect, few steps away from the white sandy beach, the room is simple yet beautiful and is equipped with everything you need. The small hairdryer in the bathroom is one of the most powerful hairdryers I’ve used whilst on travel…. For the ladies with long hair who wants to swim daily like I did, this is absolute dream!!! Toiletries are replenished daily, I forgot my body lotion and the mini lotions which they provide daily came in very handy. The staff comes every evening to turn down your room, meaning set your bed for the night and spray the room so you are not eaten alive by the mosquitoes. I had no issues of mosquitoes in the room. You are also provided with 1.5L of bottled water daily which is an additional bonus. Every evening there is live entertainment and activities also planned for the day. I enjoy a few rounds of beach volleyball with other guests and staff at Sultan Sands which is done daily at 5pm. Overall I thoroughly enjoy my solo vacation and huge shout out to the fantastic team at Sultan Sands, from the reception, the chefs, the waiters, the management staff, the sports coach. Mike, Kambi, Hussuen, Shaiki, Gertrude, Mahi, Sophia, Joyce, Mohammed, Hidaya these are only some of the names I could remember and I apologise for not remembering everyone name. Nice place, good staff. Clean rooms and good food. Although rainseason it doesn't matter. Hotel area is green and mixture of African and Arabic style. The beach is ideal for long walks and swimming. Restaurant and bar's are good and clean. Enjoy!

I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff were all, without exception, absolutely amazing. The food was delicious for every meal and the rooms fabulous. If you want. 25 star hotel experience I strongly suggest you visit Sultan Sands.
