After reading all the reviews before hand I must admit I was concerned of what was ahead of me but after returning from my 4 day stay here I feel it deserved an honest review! When we first arrived to the hotel which was around 8:15pm we came across a telephone number on the main keypad so I rung the number and they picked up straight away, asked for a copy of my passport to be sent over via sms for confirmation it was me that was checking in and I got sent the codes straight away, this was a huge relief as after a long day travelling from Wales (including an 8 hour lay-over in Amsterdam) all we wanted to do was drop our bags off to the room! We had 3 codes to remember for 4 different doors, 1 for the main door and courtyard block entrance and 1 for the first entrance of our hallway and 1 for our actual room, some have argued in other reviews that "there is too many codes to remember" however it felt a lot safer than a standard hotel as every room has unique codes and we didn't have to deal with the struggles of losing a room key so this was a positive in our eyes! After returning from a lovely meal on the main square that first night at about 11:30pm, we went to turn the showers on and were alarmed when the water didn't come out... but after a quick google search we learnt that the snow had caused a temporary blockage in the pipes and after a short 20 minutes we were able to have a warm shower! One thing to note in both our rooms, 213 and 322 our shower had been put on wrong so the warm setting was actually cold and the cold setting was warm, once we figured this out we had very decent showers for the rest of the trip! ( Being a group of girls aged 21-24 this was not a problem). As for the room itself it is a very modern design, the room is equipped with a kettle, hob, pots and pans etc, beds were comfy (soft but still comfy), there was only one pillow on each bed (twin rooms) so maybe bring a spare with you if that will bother you! As for the bathroom, soap and body wash were filled to the top, a decent hairdryer was in the drawer under the bathroom sink along with 3 more toilet rolls, we also had two big towels and 2 hand towels on each bed when we arrived as well as a footmat in the bathroom. We tested all of our sockets as another review stated that theirs didn't work but all of ours worked and we were very happy to see that there was a socket either side of the beds next to the nightstands, our curtains also closed fully (again another review on here stated otherwise), the room was also very well heated and we were able to adjust the heating and radiator as we pleased, it was lovely returning to our cosy room after being out and about in -10°c weather! The aparthotel itself was in a quiet and ideal location being a brief 10/12 minute walk from the main market square, as well as a short 7 minute walk to Mr Pancake ( worth the visit🤤) and there is also a mini Zabka supermarket shop next door. Nice hotel, attentive staff, overall pleasent stay and great location close enough to walk to everything we wanted to see but farenough thatt we slept well with no noise. Few hiccups, couldn't find our booking on arrival but quickly sorted out, only two pillows and we were told there was no extra. Odd thing was there was a kettle, hob, fridge etc but no sink so had to wash cups in bathroom sink.

I was slightly alarmed at recent reviews of this accommodation so wanted to put my opinion having just stayed. There is no reception, just a phone number. I got through after ten mins if trying and was asked to send photo confirmation via Whatsapp - I didnt need to go to sister hotel and codes were immediately sent. Apartment was spacious and immaculately clean - no drain smells in property or courtyard. The bathroom was lovely - great shower and quite soundproof. Beds were very soft but surprisingly comfy. Location was ideal, very close to old town square and a grocer shop next door. Door is slighly see through but didnt bother us at all. Youd only see anything if you stood right in front naked with the light on! Overall a very positive stay that I'd recommend.

Good room and comfy beds. Felt very safe and private there. Air con worked well with it being hot weather. However Bathroom smelt of drainage though. We had to go and leave our bags at the sister hotel as there is no reception at this one. We then checked in here too- so to be mindful there is no reception and you may have to travel to the sister hotel to check in. This is the only thing I would suggest is having a reception.

The experience was simply horrible. The access key system (without a physical person on-hand to address issues) was a nightmare. It would have been great to have known about this contactless system prior to booking (even prior to arrival)! If you are not glued to your phone or devices 24hrs, then this hotel isn't for you. If you are looking for traditional hospitality, then this hotel isn't for you. No cleaner came to clean my room for the entire 5-day stay! If you got hooked by the bread-and-breakfast promise, then this part is real - but be prepared to shove the same sausage, cheese, and bread down your throat each morning.

We arrived at 10am into krakow, as we wanted to make the most of our first day… we had no prior information about check in and didn’t think there would be an issue arriving to drop bags off so we could go and explore …. but we arrived and couldn’t gain access to the building. There were 2 phone numbers on the door to call but none of them answer the phone and just goes to voicemail. They wouldn’t answer the phone but then replied on WhatsApp stating that we have to go across town to the sister hotel that has a reception desk - Aparthotel Rakowicka Residence. We had to make our own way there to drop our bags, then go about our day. Once the room was ready we had to return to this sister hotel to collect our bags and then make our own way back across town to Cracovia residence!!! Really not ideal! You will be given codes to access the building and separate code for your room. Once we were into Cracovia Residence there is no staff on site for anything, no reception etc. The bathroom in the room has no window and there was a smell of bad drainage the whole time. At night there is no darkness as there is too much light from the main door, as the front door to the room is frosted glass. (See picture taken at midnight) Lights / lamps in the room didn’t work Left us an empty air freshener for the bathroom so couldn’t get away from the bad smell. Shower gel on the wall ran out after 2 days. Break fast is some bread, sausage cheese ham egg - all cold. Very small lumpy pillow on each bed… if you don’t like sleeping flat then I suggest bringing your own pillow. These things could have been rectified had there been a reception desk or staff on site, however we gave up trying to call the numbers provided and just put up with it. The hotel is a good location, but I’d advise staying at a hotel with better facilities.

I would give it one star, but it was clean and quiet. It had those traits going for it. The negatives: -there is no reception desk, and they don’t tell you that clearly ahead of time. So, I wasted two taxi rides because I had to travel to their sister hotel to show my passport and check in, then taxi back to my hotel. Very annoying. -The breakfast isn’t good. It came an hour later than they said it would. My apple had gone bad, and the sausage looked awful. I couldn’t eat it. -The cleaning service didn’t replenish my still water or Nespresso pods, even after I asked them to. (And they said they would.) I would not recommend this place. It is like a bad Airbnb. Do yourself a favor and stay at a real hotel or a real Airbnb.

So we were there for a Wedding and my friend and I was chosen this aparthotel because our other one had no hot water. We was given no room code neither the codes to get into the main gate and Lobby door prior to our arrival. We rang and rang with no answer. We managed to get through the main gate because some guy was coming out and we slipped through. So again there was no way into the Lobby door and no out of the gate without a code, let alone our actual room. So we rang and rang and rang (28 times in total). We realised (because of the other people who stayed next door to us and because of another 2 people) that the electronics to all key pads for the gates and door was not working. There was no one there to greet us, there's no reception, nothing! So after being trapped in-between the main gate (it's a sealed off door/gate, can't see to the outside) and the lobby door for 3.5hrs with no contact from hotel whatsoever, can't getting in or out, we decided that there was one option and that was to set the fire alarm off, knowing it should and did, unlock the doors. Then after a while, a woman came to give us our key pad number for our room and the numbers to get into the main gate and Lobby door. The next day, we met a load of people for food and drinks, I decided to come back to find a CCTV picture of us setting the fire alarm with it saying "Come to the Sister hotel by 8pm to explain this or we will call the Police". And out room was locked with no access. So no bother, we got there. We couldn't explain anything, the Manager of that hotel would not let us get a word in let alone explain. He demanded English £1000 on the spot or he'll phone the Police. We said "Call them". We waited over an hour for them to arrived, who didn't speak English, they were debating for ages. In the end the Manager said, can we call it quits and you guys leave the hotel (with no refund or anything). We was told we will be met by this lady 30mins later. We met her so we can get our stuff and it was at this point she said you have to pay a fee for the fire alarm glass damage and her own call out fee (which it's her job) and us being a liable which had no cost against it! She wanted us to pay £195 she was asking for, which we strongly believe this was not been asked by the Manager, as he said Infront of the Police, we'll cool it quits and go our separate ways. We just wanted to get out by that point and knew we hadn't need to pay anything but paid £95 in English money after instantly accepting it from us saying no to £195. How can she be demanding one figure and drop by £100 instantly and accept it?! As for the room, it's was okay, can't tell you too much because we wasn't there for long. Only 1 towel each, fridge was warm, couldn't wash up if we wanted to, unless you used the bathroom sink, no iron as we needed one for our Wedding clothes. I'd just avoid full stop!! The Aparthotel is situated in a courtyard behind a large wooden door which is locked. There was a phone number on the door to call for reception. Unfortunately it took my uk phone quite some time to find a network and when I got one and called the number it went to answerphone continually. I then started loudly hammering on the door and a receptionist appeared. We were early so she put our bags in a staff room and she said she’d text when the room was ready and provide the door code which she did do. We met her when we returned, got our bags and went into the room. The room was nice however there was no sign of any slippers or robes. FYI in a standard room you have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink and there’s only 1 pillow per person. I tried connecting to the wifi using the password on the paperwork in the room but it was wrong but found a different password on the hotel business card which did work. We put our please clean room sign on after our first night but no housekeeping came but on looking at the information leaflet you have to contact housekeeping by phone to request the room be cleaned. I emailed and tried to call the hotel (there didn’t appear to be any staff on site) as we had no toilet roll and wanted clean towels but got no answer so I left a note on the reception desk. On day 3 the housekeeper appeared at the door and handed in toilet roll, towels and tea coffee etc. On day 4 she appeared at the door again and we asked for a top up on shower gel and soap which she did. She never attended the room again although we were there 7 nights. On day 6 I found a member of staff in the basement so requested fresh towels, toilet roll and tea coffee etc but wouldn’t have got this if it wasn’t for me chasing them up. On day 5 there was a power cut, just at the hotel so no one could get in their room as rooms are accessed with a key pad. There were no staff on site (the reception desk has been completed removed during our stay) and they weren’t answering the phone. They were called in excess of 16 times by different residents. Finally a young English guy pressed the fire alarm to prompt some attendance by staff and a lady arrived. Apparently the hotel was being run remotely by staff at their sister hotel but the calls weren’t coming through to them so presumably the fire alarm trick had prompted someone to attend. The lady allowed access to the rooms with a master key but still no power. The owner later arrived with an electrician and the issue was fixed but he didn’t attend the rooms to apologise or say the power was now on. We ended up going out to dinner late and without a shower. The following day the English guys were evicted for raising the alarm without refund and initially told to pay £1000 or the police would be called but when they said phone the police they were just told to leave.
