location location location! right next to the volcano with a great view of it from the shower! Beautiful rooms with a lovely hot tub and outdoor seating area although watch out for the slippery wood floor. Big shout out to Marolin for her assistance before during and after our stay, she was great! The staff was super and always happy to help, offering to show us around or assist with anything we needed. Golf carts take you whenever needed and arrive quickly. Offsite experiences were really fantastic with great guides and we enjoyed the Sloth tour, boat safari and hanging bridges. Thank you to Gabriel and Wilson who were so helpful checking in and out. Carmen was very sweet helping us with our last dinner. The menus were a bit lacking but overall food was good portions were healthy and service was great.

We did not stay at the hotel but we came for the day! It was so relaxing and I think we came out of their “busy season” so there weren’t many people there! We went at 11 am when they opened, stayed for lunch which was a buffet with fresh vegan options, we had a couple Swedish massage which was SO great and relaxing. We came in late May and people started filling the springs after 4 pm. The top coffee bar had the most wonderful view of the volcano and it was such a fun relaxing experience. They had lockers available so you could just relax and have fun! Definitely recommend spending at least 1/2 day!

For our 4 day stay, we loved the Rain Forest villa with a plunge pool. Significant space for a couple with separate vanity areas, outdoor showers, a relaxing deck and well furnished. A beautiful, expansive property with gorgeous grounds and wildlife. Several sloths and multitude of birds on property. Several restaurants on property, but our favorite was the La Terraza for the Costa Rican food - flavors were exceptional. Staff and Service were always helpful, gracious and anticipating our needs. Went in off season and the weather was great, especially for a rain forest (only one rain storm and that was on our arrival) - excursions included ziplining, sky trek, hanging bridges, and night walk, recommend all. And then there is the Arenal Volcano, just beautiful to look at over breakfast

From the picturesque landscape to the Arenal volcano as a backdrop, Hotel Lomas del Volcán is worth five stars. Our room was in it's own bungalow, clean, comfortable and cozy. We had a large, spacious bathroom and balconies to the front and back of the bungalow. The grounds were impeccably manicured and the lush greenery and flowers just brought the paradise vibe. It was tranquil and just made me feel so much in harmony with nature. The front desk staff, tour scheduler, restaurant staff, porters were all friendly, polite and helpful and readily available. They always asked if you spoke Spanish and most could easily switch to English if necessary. The food was amazing! There was a wide variety of foods for breakfast and the wait staff there were smiling and bubbly. This is a dream location and our experience was top of the line. It was one of the best places, I've ever stayed at. Certainly value for money!

Great location for transport to Arenal adventures as well as an easy walk to local restaurants and variety stores. Helpful and accommodating staff. Clean, comfortable, if spartan, rooms. Fun pool. Wide variety of breakfast foods. Good bars above the restaurant and by the pool.

Whilst this is technically a hostel, it is far better than some hotels we stayed in! Rooms are great (good air con, hot water, good storage); facilities superb (pool, business lounge, kitchen/food prep area, pool table, great bar); well organised trips (the zip line followed by hot springs is a must!); very helpful staff; and the food delicious (tuna steak with salad delightful)
