ホテル フランソワ プルミエ(Hotel Francois 1er Urban Style)

Our family stayed one night on route down to the south of France from Roscoff. We had a 2 bedroomed suite, with a lounge area and bathroom off that. Beds were comfortable, bathroom a little dated. The hotels decor is fantastic for a one night stay it was superb. They have a gated off street parking area, which was perfect and is next to the hotel. La Rochelle is a beautiful town, its very worth a stop.

Had a lovely stay wished it was longer definitely be back lovely hotel very central would recommend to friends stopped for 1 night wasn’t enough weather wasn’t very good which was a shame but still had a lovely time

We had a couple of nights staying at the hotel. The staff were welcoming. The room was compact but had everything we needed. The hotel is located in the centre of the town and everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance. The only issue we had was the rooms are not soundproofed so you can hear your neighbours….but apart from that we had a lovely stay.

Interesting old property with modern decorations- warm and efficient plumbing close to shops and bars but quiet- would come here again- situated in old part of town friendly welcome with excellent English spoken

Cute arty hotel right in the middle of town. Paid parking was a godsend. Loved the location in the shopping area and close to all the sights. Good continental breakfast. Room was comfortable for a family of 4 and clean. Staff very helpful and great English.

Hotel François 1er was a perfect place for our quick trip to La Rochelle. Conveniently located in the city center, near the Old Port, museums and plenty of dining and shopping options. We really enjoyed walking the neighborhoods of La Rochelle. The staff was very friendly and tolerant of my beginner French skills. The only problem we had was trying to access the property after we'd picked up our rental car. With construction and one-way streets, my husband was not able to navigate me to the hotel to park and pick up our luggage. We will return and stay longer next time.

The room smelled very damp and musty and the bathroom was dirty especially the toilet. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no milk although when I asked at reception I was provided with some. We were too late for dinner which wasnt available at the hotel anyway but they could not even provide us with a vended snack. We went to bed very hungry and very dissatisfied. Breakfast next day was basic but acceptable

Location was great for the Vieux port but difficult to fin driving, although the staff were excellent in giving directions. Breakfast excellent. Beds a little soft and bedroom a little small but overall a very nice central hotel.
