Billed as charming and rustic but anything but ! I have stayed at camp grounds and state parks that look like 5 star resorts next to these poor excused for lodging. First of all , could not check in prior to 6pm. Which meant our cottage was shut tight since night before. Told not to open the windows by the manager/ staff or we would be bitten by sand flies all night-true statement! That night our quaint cottage become a 90 degree gullag. No one on our party slept a wink. We enquired with the staff about solutions at 9pm. Their less than friendly response - sleep with bug spray all night. Yes , you heard it especially in an environmentally conscious country - you should wear Deet to sleep They know that they have a problem but refused to take any corrective measures. How about putting screens on the windows? How about offering guests fans? Instead, their solution is that you should wear bug spray all night long. Furthermore, their advertised 15 pools is a joke. What this translates into is that some of the cottages have hot tubs and some do not. In fact, often times the hot tubs are only partially filled. When I enquired the next day into a fan or screen or refund … they said you will get nothing and “we don’t care what you post on social media “ In conclusion, staying here may well ruin a trip of s lifetime .. and lastly , remember they don’t care !
