Embassy Suites always impresses with their spacious and thoughtfully designed layouts, and this hotel is no exception. The wide-open spaces on every floor create a welcoming atmosphere without feeling cluttered. Just walking in makes you feel special, almost like a VIP. Our room was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. I genuinely wish we could have stayed more than one night. The entire property has a lovely, comfortable, and safe vibe, which we absolutely loved. The reason I'm only giving four stars is due to the experience we had with the front desk staff. Unfortunately, the gentleman at the front desk did not make us feel welcome, and front desk employees are often the first impression of the property. I had already completed a digital check-in, but when I arrived at the desk, I was struggling with the app due to a phone call interruption. I mentioned that I might need help, but he didn't acknowledge me. I stood there for about five minutes, waiting for my husband to come in from parking the car. I made a casual remark about how nice the hotel was, but he only glanced at me without responding. While I don’t expect a red carpet treatment, basic politeness and a simple greeting would have gone a long way in setting a positive tone. Additionally, the bar area was crowded, and the manager's reception was in full swing, but there was only one server/bartender. After waiting 10 minutes to place a drink and food order, we decided to leave and dine at Palmer's, located right behind the hotel. Despite these two issues, we would definitely stay here again. It's a beautiful property, wonderfully maintained, and in a great location.
We stayed 2 nights at Springhill Suites Lexington Fritz Farm. Read on for our pros and cons... (If you found this review useful, please give it a 'thumbs-up'. Thx!) Pros: -Only 5 months old when we stayed there. Modern, clean and new! -Located next to a large newer strip mall with shopping and dining, easily walkable from the hotel. -Free outdoor (uncovered) parking -Complimentary breakfast of typical hotel breakfast buffet items like oatmeal, plain yogurt, bagels, juice, cold cereals, scrambled eggs, coffee. -Large breakfast seating area off the lobby with TVs. -Gym -Indoor pool (It was COLD, but the front desk said they had a person coming to fix the temperature). -Water bottle fountain fill-up station -Friendly staff -Room featured large TV, iron/board, walk-in closet, desk, hair dryer, microwave, fridge. -Pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the shower. -Half hour drive to Pleasant Hill Shaker Village -Twenty minutes to Camp Nelson Nat'l Monument Cons: -Outside of Lexington -Thin walls -- both nights we could hear kids in the rooms on either side. You'd think being so new, they'd build a hotel with thicker walls. -Weak shower -No complimentary drinks in the lobby -Despite being only 5 months old, things were starting to show some wear, particularly around the bottom of the shower. -Barn door on bathroom -- never a favorite feature. You could have the door open or closed, but not half way. We would stick a tray behind the door to lodge it halfway at night. Barn doors are never very sound proof either. :) -I found the bed a little firm. -Lots of traffic surrounding the area. Some slight road noise in our room. Was a little concerned after seeing some negative reviews, but our stay last night worked out very well. We were in the Affirmed suite on the first floor (1109) which was spacious and comfortable. Furnishings were attractive, with a sofa and coffee table in front of the TV. There was also a small table with two chairs. Bathroom was large, with both a nice shower and a shower/tub as well as two sinks. The complimentary breakfast was good, although by the time you add coffee, there is a small extra charge (you could always make coffee in the room’s Keurig machine). The one suggestion I would make is to add a shelf or small table next to the pedestal sink for setting out toiletries. Last time we came through Lexington, which we do several times a year, we stayed at the Kentucky Castle, and we we have tried some other hotels downtown, but we feel this stay worked out best for us, so this will become our regular stop from now on.
ゲゲストClean hotel, convient location, even smelled new, Everyone was friendly, even those that didn 't speak English. Front desk was very helpful, food suggestions, plus coupon. Recommended the Arboretum! Great time there!! Breakfsat was LACKING! No scrambled eggs, no bacon, no sausage, no sweet rolls! Expected MORE from a top notch facility!!
We stayed here to break up our trip back from Knoxville to Pittsburgh. Not many people here on a Sunday night as this is primarily a business hotel and interstate traveler hotel. Check in was easy at around 7:00 pm as we were the only ones at the desk. No upgrade to a suite for our SPG Gold status as were told that their larger rooms were being remodeled. No problem as we were staying just that night and leaving early in the morning. Lobby area was clean and looked like it might be under remodel as well. Upon entering our room we found everything in order and clean. No complaints at all. As we a had a couple of hours, we headed down to the bar to see if we could get something to eat & drink. The bar/restaurant area was completely empty except for the bartender who was getting an order ready for room delivery. We ordered a couple of drinks and some wings, tossed salad and desert. The bartender (sorry, I can't remember her name) was very attentive and seemed glad she had some customers. The Kentucky Bourbon Barrel beer on tap that she suggested was excellent as was the ”fruity” drink that she made for my wife. Very nice. The bed was very comfortable and we got a good nights sleep. In the morning we used the shower which was clean and worked well. Typical 4 points standard which we like. We immediately checked out after packing so that we could get on the road. As always, I took photos as we entered the room which I have uploaded here. Do not hesitate to stay here as it was just what we needed for a short overnighter.
