I booked this hotel on the last night of my trip to Costa Rica to stay for the night before an early morning flight as it is near the airport. I was a little iffy on staying here based on the mixed reviews I found on Google but was comforted by the fact that most people said it was clean. And boy was that a mistake! I would absolutely not recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a nice stay. This is the kind of place that hands you room keys with the remotes for the A/C and TV upon check-in. While I certainly wasn't expecting luxury, I was expecting that the rooms, were clean and properly maintained. I almost walked out but didn't because it was late. Pros - Close to the airport - Front desk staff were polite - Parking is included Cons - Rooms are old and dingy - Linens were literally threadbare and old - Bathroom was so small that the counter is literally cut in a specific shape to allow the door to open - Shower barely drained - Parking space was limited and tight - parking was basically outside each room - Rooms were noisy - there's the road, I could hear furniture moving from the room above, noise from the courtyard that is outside the room door, and the beds creaked loudly There is no way that this is a 3-star hotel. I would struggle to give it 2-stars and I don't think you can get any more budget than this. Probably an upgrade if you're used to the hostel life but not for a family.
We arrived in Liberia after 8pm so we stayed here based on a recommendation by @ridetheearth. The location was a quick shuttle ride from the airport and we arrived in time to order dinner and relax after our long flight. Food was delicious and accommodating to food allergies and vegan preferences. Rooms were comfortable and cool. We even had time for the pool in the morning which was delightful. Staff was welcoming and helpful.
This new hotel is the perfect place to stay when arriving or departing from the Liberia airport. The staff--special shootout to Daniel--are friendly, professional, helpful, and multilingual. The hotel is clean and well decorated. The pool and bar area provides a comfortable place to relax. The fitness room is clean, cool, and has sufficient equipment to get in a good workout or stretch. The rooms are small with comfortable beds. I will stay at the Hampton Inn Guanacaste again!
We just returned from an incredible week celebrating our birthday at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica, and it was hands down the best decision we've made! We discovered this gem after visiting the Planet Hollywood in Cancun last year, and this resort has its own unique charm that blew us away. From the moment we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with a surprise applause, making us feel like celebrities right from the start. Our butler, Johan, truly made our experience unforgettable. As a mother of three, I’m usually the one doing all the planning and caring for my family, but Johan pampered us in ways I never expected. He’s truly my hero! After arriving midday, he whisked us straight to the buffet, allowing us to relax and enjoy a meal before heading to our beautifully prepared suite. The room was a dream, adorned with decorations fit for stars, making us feel extra special every day. What stood out the most was Johan’s dedication. Even on his day off, he ensured our dinner reservations were handled, and he introduced us to the amazing restaurant team, including Christian, Karina, Alfredo, Gaby, and Josue. Each dinner was a memorable experience, filled with warmth and exceptional service. We felt like we had gained a family by the time we left. I can’t thank Johan enough for making our birthday celebration so special. If you’re planning a trip to Planet Hollywood, be sure to seek him out for all your travel arrangements. He guarantees you’ll vacation like a star! Here are some cherished pictures of our time, especially with Johan and his wonderful surprises for our birthday. 🌟 Thank you, Johan, from the bottom of our hearts!
